FULL TEXT BELOW:
The Supreme Court's recent ruling on the right to bear arms is based on an interpretation that cannot be justified by the wording of the Second Amendment.
Justice Samuel Alito Jr., writing for the majority, said the right to self-defense protected by the Second Amendment was fundamental to the American conception of ordered liberty.
The Second Amendment makes no mention of self-defense. It states only that the right to keep and bear arms is contingent on the need for "a well regulated Militia."
The Supreme Court has consistently chosen to ignore that provision, thereby completely subverting the intent of the Second Amendment.
