Board President Margaret Teltow said seeing the team manage to be so successful and win the state championship in just three years is very impressive.
Thats a tribute to the boys and girls and to the parents and coaches who have helped them along the way, Teltow said.
The team will go to its first Nationals Competition in Mason, MI, the weekend of July 12-15. Richmond is taking two qualifying teams and 24 qualifying individuals among 1,400 individual shooters and 280 teams in the tournament.

A law professor described Judge Thomas Hardiman, a candidate for the impending Supreme Court nomination, as a Second Amendment extremist for his originalist view of the Constitution, specifically regarding the Second Amendment. Professor Adam Winkler at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law argued that if Hardiman were confirmed, the Supreme Court would be more likely to take up cases challenging current firearm laws, lending the potential for those laws to be struck down. Consequently, with Hardiman on the Supreme Court, there would be more legal gun ownership in what are now heavily regulated states like California and Connecticut.

At least 26 of Illinois 102 counties have passed gun sanctuary resolutions or similar measures. The term is a play on the phrase sanctuary city, which describes cities where political and law enforcement leaders limit their cooperation with federal immigration policies and vow to protect immigrant rights. |

Can a state attorney general unilaterally reinterpret a gun control statute to retroactively ban firearms that had been openly bought and sold within the state throughout the laws 20-year history? William G. Young, a federal judge in Massachusetts, said yes in Workman v. Healy, the NRA-supported challenge to the attorney generals ban. That opinion illustrates why President Donald Trumps appointments to the federal judiciary are so important.
