"Following reports that police chiefs in Wisconsin are campaigning already against legislation that would allow concealed carry by citizens of that state, the ... CCRKBA is challenging those lawmen to explain why Wisconsin residents are less trustworthy with licensed, concealed handguns than residents in 46 other states."

"According to WBAY-TV in Green Bay, 'police chiefs across Wisconsin say they need to keep all the guns they can in officers hands only.'"

"'This is astonishing,' observed CCRKBA Executive Director Joe Waldron. 'Law-abiding private citizens in nearly every other state have been carrying guns legally for years, and they pose a far lesser danger to police officers than traffic accidents. ..." ...

Parker v DC: District's opposition to Parker's motion to schedule briefing (blog)

The Parker attorney's motion to schedule briefing, on a parallel track with the District's motion to remand or dismiss, has now received a response in opposition from the District. Parker attorneys will get a response to this, after which the judge will pick which of the two motions to grant -- or do something else. Like most of the District's motions during this stage, this response is short and, pardon the pun, dismissive -- almost contemptuous, in this case. Clearly, the District's legal team think they've won by default following the result of Seegars, at least with regard to this Court.
