"'Gun-grabbing policies promoted by Vatican and U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) officials endanger victims of violent crime and terrorism,' gun rights expert John M. Snyder said here today."
"'Such policies should be renounced and reversed,' he added."
"'There are many news reports of murderous Islamist terrorist attacks on Catholics and others in various parts of the world, especially in the Middle East,' Snyder noted. 'These victims and potential victims of terrorism need firearms to be able to defend themselves against such attacks.'" ... |

"Shaneen Allen faces three and a half years in prison because she made an honest mistake, followed by a mistake of honesty. Allen, ... who lives in Philadelphia, drove to Atlantic City with a gun in her purse, erroneously thinking her Pennsylvania carry permit would be respected in New Jersey. Then she told a state trooper about the gun when he pulled her over for a traffic violation." ...
"As Allen's attorney, Evan Nappen, explained after last week's hearing, 'she really has nothing to lose by going to trial at this point,' since the only plea bargain offered by prosecutors would require Allen to serve three and half years (i.e., the mandatory minimum). It looks like her fate will be determined by a jury's willingness to do the right thing ..." |

"A few months back, TTAG was kind enough to post a review I did of the Robinson Armament XCR-M rifle in .308 Winchester/7.62 x 51 mm. The review was not flattering; the sample rifle, owned by a friend, had serious accuracy and reliability issues. Cosmetically and feature-wise, I was very impressed by it. However, after putting several different factory and bulk loads through the rifle, I ended up giving it only a 2-star rating. I added the caveat at the time that Robinson Armament had agreed to ship the rifle back for diagnosis and service. The rifle is now back from Robinson Armament, and, true to my word, heres a second look at this controversial rifle . . ." ... |

Hey! Why didnt anyone tell me about this? Of course, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion anyway. The .40 caliber round adopted by the FBI and thousands of police departments after the infamous FBI Miami shootout (a cluster-you-know-what of epic proportions) was a panic-induced compromise that didnt provide 9mm capacity or controllability, or .45 caliber controllability and terminal performance. But dont take my word for it. Wood rings the death knell for .40 . . ." ... |

That fact has imbued the inanimate chunk of metal with mystery and undue fear, fear they think must be universal. Like your keys or wallet, you keep your carry gun with you at all times, but you are not constantly aware of it.
