"President George W. Bush has initiated a sea change in government policy regarding the individual Second Amendment civil right of law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms. We hope this trend favoring the right to defend one's life and the lives of one's loved ones, of the right to life itself, continues and flourishes." --John Snyder, public affairs director, CCRKBA |

A state school safety commission agreed Tuesday to revisit legislation enacted by the Legislature in 2000 following the 1999 Columbine High School shootings in Colorado. That law allows felony prosecution for disrupting a school.
More than 500 Pima County students faced felony charges for school threats last school year - the first year of the new law. Though many of the charges were dismissed or reduced, the students will carry felony arrests on their records. |

"The buck stops here," said Larry Raugust. "There is no more redress of grievances through peaceable means. The only way to meet unlawful force is with lawful force. Otherwise, you have tyranny."
"Its literally at a checkmate," Michael Cain said. "How far outside theyll take it remains to be seen. But it could all be over, if the county would obey the law of the land. They dont have a right to take my property for taxes." |

LasVegasSun (AP) -- A federal magistrate says the state Ethics Commission has relied on two unconstitutional sections of Nevada law to punish citizens who complain about public officials.
Magistrate Judge Valerie Cooke recommended that U.S. District Judge Dave Hagen rule in favor of self-proclaimed government watchdog Sam Dehne of Reno and find that the laws violate constitutional free-speech and due process guarantees."... |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
As an individual, I believe, very strongly, that handguns should be banned and that there should be stringent, effective control of other firearms. However, as a judge, I know full well that the question of whether handguns can be sold is a political one, not an issue of products liability law, and that this is a matter for the legislatures, not the courts. The unconventional theories advanced in this case (and others) are totally without merit, a misuse of products liability laws. Judge Buchmeyer, Patterson v. Gesellschaft, 1206 F.Supp. 1206, 1216 (N.D. Tex. 1985) |
