A Port St. Lucie man is accused of pointing a gun at a physical education teacher during an open house, Port St. Lucie police say. The instructor, Christopher LaSala, said he was speaking to parents at Grace Christian Academy on Sunday about a martial arts/self defense after-school program he was going to run. He also told them that he thinks firearms arent always the best choice for self-defense because they can easily be taken away. |

What Fox News is describing as the grisly murders of three women in a suburban New York home over the weekend raises some uncomfortable facts for the gun prohibition lobbying groups that suggest tougher gun laws will prevent murders and mayhem.
Thirty-four-year-old Bobby Vanderhall has been reportedly charged with murder in the slayings of his mother, his sister and the sisters friend early Saturday morning. His weapon of choice was described as a framing hammer, a tool used daily by carpenters all over the map that can be purchased at any hardware store in the country, no questions asked. |

I hate Illinois Nazis. I also hate Nazis in the other 49 states. What a bunch of complete losers. Even if one of these Nazi cosplayer pinheads hadnt murdered someone in Charlottesville this weekend and Virginia has the death penalty, so I hope James Alex Fields enjoys the feeling of that cold, cold needle going into his arm before they stop his heart and his cowardly, miserable life even if the violence hadnt escalated, these guys would still be pathetic.

Its not an unusual scene when politically left and right groups mingle, except it was Smith from the Houston Socialist Movement brandishing a rifle, not the red-hatted and camouflage-wearing protesters. Houston Socialist Movement believes that we ought to execute that right to self-defense, Smith said. If were going to ask our people to come to our events, were not going to let participants get hurt.

When you think about handgun ammunition as it relates to personal protection, weve come a long way since Bat Masterson was shooting it out with Sergeant King in 1876. Weve evolved way beyond solid-lead projectiles that rarely expanded to copper and lead-alloy projectiles that can deform to more than twice their original diameter. Surprisingly, the bullet chosen for the new Black Hills HoneyBadger line of defensive-handgun ammunition does not expand at all. |

With the newest Republican Congresswoman from Georgia, Karen Handel, cosponsoring HR 38 last week, there are now 209 cosponsors of the national reciprocity bill. That bill was introduced in the House by Representative Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) in January with a companion bill being introduced in the Senate simultaneously by Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas). With Handels endorsement, that means passage by the House is just nine votes away. |

Thanks to a tortured ruling by the Washington State Supreme Court, there is a dangerous new threat to gun ownership. Its called a gun violence tax and Washingtons high court sided with the City of Seattle, which adopted such a tax in 2015 in a gun control strategy to slither around the 34-year-old state preemption law that placed exclusive authority for regulating firearms in the hands of the State Legislature.

A Kansas Highway Patrol spokesman told KCUR that the governors mansion, known as Cedar Crest, is a public building and a private residence. So, when Gov. Sam Brownback and his family are at Cedar Crest, it is a private residence and concealed weapons could be banned. When theyre gone, the law allowing concealed carry in public buildings applies.
