The Lewis Machine Gun, with its large cylindrical jacket surrounding the barrel and distinctive top-mounted pan magazine, is one of the most recognizable military arms of all time. While many are aware of the Lewis gun, the story of its tenure in U.S. service is not as well known. It may be surprising to some that, although developed by a U.S. Army officer, the Lewis gained the majority of its fame in the service of other nations. Despite its proven effectiveness, the story of the American Lewis is a mixture of intra-service rivalry, petty professional jealousy and incompetence at the highest level of the U.S. Army Ordnance Department. |

The Second Amendment Foundation has just announced a new video message to be broadcast on several national cable networks, warning the country about Joe Bidens plans to ban 9mm-caliber handguns as well as modern sporting rifles, and they use the presidents own words to prove their point.
The 60-second message features a clip of Bidens response to a question about gun control during a recent CNN Townhall program in which he stated, The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether its a, whether its a 9mm pistol or whether its a rifle, is ridiculous. Im continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things |

Someone once said that good gear will not make up for poor tactics, but good tactics will make up for poor gear. And, I think that is something that the defensive shooter should keep in mind. We live in an era when new guns, new gear, and new ammo are being introduced on a regular basis. Now, being a gun guy, I certainly enjoy that but a fellow ought to keep in mind that a new gun is not going to win you a gunfight. Its what you can do with that gun that really matters. |

Mississippi is a popular destination for deer and turkey hunters, but this year non-residents may be forking over more cash. Adam Butler, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Wild Turkey Program coordinator, said while personnel were looking for ways to control numbers of non-resident hunters on public land during the first two weeks of turkey season, a problem with certain non-resident hunting licenses was noticed.

Training someone to shoot a defensive handgun is mostly a standardized process. Firearm safety is followed by firearm function, which is then followed by an introduction to the basics of marksmanship. Past that, focus falls on handgun manipulation, presentation and various methods of target engagement. The process requires lots of shooting and weve been doing this so longGunsite Academy has offered the same entry-level pistol class for 45 yearswe take for granted that this is the way.

AMMO Inc (POWW) and preferred AMMO Inc stock (POWWP) intrigue me. Only a couple of years ago, they were an obscure ammo play that appeared unstable. Lack of capital and lack of profits made them appear less than favorable. This was reflected in share price. However, these questionable companies can appeal to a value investor IF management can turn the company around/scale it and IF the investor has patience.

The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife says the states carefully regulated bear hunt helps control the population decreasing interactions with humans. Have you ever shot a gun just one time and immediately knew you had to buy it? That was me with the Maxim PDX. Coming in at just under 19 inches, the PDX is offered in powerful calibers such as 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 7.62x39mm. My first time demoing a PDX was at the F.I.R.E. Expo in Florida. The Maxim PDX proved to be reliable and shot very well despite boasting a mere 5.5-inch barrel. Shortly after the event, I had an incident that made me go from wanting to needing the PDX. |

One of the most interesting but least talked about aspects of Maxim Defense is its suppressor wing, and they talked to Guns.com about their almost spooky quiet GPMG can. While on a visit to Maxim's St. Cloud, Minnesota, headquarters, we were able to talk to CJ Dugan and the gang about the company's suppressor team. Acquired after the great schism in the suppressor industry in 2017, Maxim's quiet-time R&D crew includes such legends in the industry as Dr. Phil Dater. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
I do believe that where there is a choice only between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence. Thus when my eldest son asked me what he should have done had he been present when I was almost fatally assaulted in 1908 [by an Indian extremist opposed to Gandhi's agreement with Smuts], whether he should have run away and seen me killed or whether he should have used his physical force which he could and wanted to use, and defend me, I told him it was his duty to defend me even by using violence. Hence it was that I took part in the Boer War, the so-called Zulu Rebellion and [World War I]. Hence also do I advocate training in arms for those who believe in the method of violence. I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honor than that she should in a cowardly manner become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor. Mohandas K. Gandhi, Young India, August 11, 1920 from Fischer, Louis ed.,The Essential Gandhi, 1962 |
