"Anti-gun activists are again quarreling with the brilliance of the Founding Fathers. In answering them, I usually write for the non-gun owners and connect the intent of the Founders to modern times as they wished. My motto is that you never know who may be hearing the liberty message for the very first time."

"In challenging the Second Amendment, foes of our liberty want to make the Bill of Rights a living document, with all its confusing subjectivity. Liberals use this tactic a great deal in promoting ambiguity, which half the time goes to their advantage. It is the equivalent of unending coin tosses to see who goes first after it already came up Heads." ...

... "I'm going to try and start a blog swarm at WarOnGuns to get gun owners to buy a box of ammo on Aug 28--be nice if gun stores would offer some sort of nominal discount or a door prize ... or some such on that day to encourage this--Tuesdays may typically be slow days anyway, so this would get people in their stores and probably work out to their profit."

"It'd be nice unintended consequences for the Bradys if we could demonstrate a few percentage points of sales increases on that day because of this."

"... the point is just to make it happen, not to get caught up in the details of how. We're far enough away to where this won't encroach on National Ammo Day, and it would be a great in-your-face to have our enemies' plans backfire on them." ...

"Could martial law ever become a reality in America? ... KSLA News 12 has discovered that the clergy would help the government with potentially their biggest problem: Us." ...

"If martial law were enacted here at home, like depicted in the movie 'The Siege', easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical. And that's exactly what the 'Clergy Response Team' helped accomplish in the wake of Katrina."

"Dr. Durell Tuberville serves as chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff's Office. Tuberville said of the clergy team's mission, 'the primary thing that we say to anybody is, 'let's cooperate and get this thing over with and then we'll settle the differences once the crisis is over.'" ...

"A federal judge ruled Wednesday that more than a dozen out-of-state gun dealers have helped criminals terrorize New Yorkers and now must face the city in court."

"U.S. District Judge Jack Weinstein ruled against the shops, which had argued they couldn't be sued in a New York court because they do not do business in the city."

"But the judge said the city had demonstrated 'with a high degree of probability' that the shops' behavior has been 'responsible for the funneling into New York of large quantities of handguns used by local criminals to terrorize significant portions of the city's population.'"

"That 'knowing' conduct brought the out-of-state dealers under New York jurisdiction, he said." ...

"On Monday The Gazette published an editorial about Ohio state Rep. Michael DeBose, who, after being the victim of an attempted armed robbery, has decided to take classes and obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon. The unusual part of his story is that before the mugging DeBose was a dyed-inthe-wool advocate for strict guncontrol measures."

"As a result of being mugged, DeBose came to realize what we gun-rights advocates have known all along: gun-control laws dont keep criminals from getting guns. That being the case, law-abiding citizens should have the same access to the means to protect themselves." ...

"'When you have a lifelong history of believing and actually acting on your beliefs on a topic, you don't have to go proving it to anybody,' he said. 'One of the reason you're going to see a lot of the candidates running and saying 'I'm pro-life, I'm pro-life, I'm pro-Second Amendment, oh, and I believe in traditional marriage,' it's because no one believes they are, so they're trying to convince either the voters or themselves. ... "The four dug out their handguns ... and turned them over to National Rifle Association lobbyist Clark Aposhian, who stored them in his car until they finished the tour of the refinery." ...

The manager of Reds Trading Post in Twin Falls has met with a pretty famous ally in his fight against the ATF.

Ryan Horsley talked with rock star Ted Nugent Monday night.

However, Horsley says it wasn't the first time that he had brought the topic to Nugent's attention.

Horsley also says the star was eager to help, "He has offered support; I have not been asking support for Reds Trading Post but more support of firearms dealers because of course our fate is in the hands of a judge."

Horsley says Nugent offered to tell Red's story on his website.

"What several may not know is that not too long ago when the ATF was revoking your license it was a common practice to just let the license go, then apply for another license under a new name and/or corporation. The ATF simply wanted the number to show that they were apparently doing their jobs."

"When the ATF notified us that they were revoking our license this is something that I sought some advice on. ... A couple sources ... stated that for the most part this practice has changed and they are no longer allowing this. However many ATF inspectors will tell you that you can try this approach, but what happens is you turn your license in, form a new corporation and then they deny request. ..." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. Joseph Sobran
