... "We know that the administration is hostile to small arms, at least in private hands. We know that political opponents of the administration are deemed haters. We know that these sentiments are shared by the overwhelmingly regressive establishment press."

"And we know that this administration is not beyondwell, 'Project Gunwalker' (and all that it implies) to advance its agenda."

"Heres one other thing we know: If the seemingly prescient 'lone wolf' scenario plays out, its prey will be defenseless, the scavenging jackals will be quick to gather afterward, and their howling points will all sound eerily similar."

"Philanthropist and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the kind of anti-freedom politician every gun owner should despise. Whether it is the food we eat or the kind of car we drive, Bloomberg likes to stick his nose in other people's business, and tell us what to do. Bloomberg's viewpoints are not just for the New York City folks either, but for all of us, and when it comes to his position on guns, his ego reaches new, obscene levels." ...

"Safer streets is a reflection of a healthier self-rule, but we wont get there without a wholesome conservative message from candidates. It means a well-rounded message, and well-rounded means addressing not constituents and trying to reach their culture, but enunciating well-rounded values and reaching all of America as one culture: the Independence culture looking for smaller government. This is 80% of the electorate." ...

"TTAG recently reported an internet rumor that Marlin had stopped manufacturing lever guns. The storied gunmaker responded with a carefully worded press release. So carefully worded, in fact, that members of our Armed Intelligentsia reckoned Marlin was spinning the truth. Weve just received word from an anonymous gun dealer that Marlins rep left a list of SKUs (all lever actions, full list after the jump) that will 'not be manufactured for the remainder of year.' "If you've ever seen a shouting match erupt among adrenaline-amped basketball players at Brooksville's Tom Varn Park, I bet this thought never crossed your mind: Boy, I wish everybody here was armed."

"And who out there thinks toddlers at the park's playground would be safer with a few pistols stashed in parents' diaper bags? ..." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: No, I don't think the children would be a lot safer with guns stashed in diaper bags. Off-body carry is only marginally better than no carry at all, but a good quality hip or shoulder holster would vastly improve the safety of toddlers, and their parents/nannies as well.

"Wednesdays shooting of a suspected burglar by a contractor working at a home in North Tacoma was the latest in a series of incidents that did not end too well for the bad guys, and nobody with the possible exception of burglars seems to be squawking too loudly." ...

"How stupid is this: the suspect saw the contractors truck in the driveway, so he tried to get away by ramming the vehicle. A confrontation followed during which the suspect got a rather nasty surprise: This guy he was trying to buffalo had a legally-carried handgun, and obviously knew how to use it. One bullet later, the bad guy is running down the street with a hole in him, only to be bagged in short order by an observant Tacoma police officer." ...

"It has become increasingly obvious that the Justice Department, meaning Attorney General Eric Holder, and the White House, meaning President Barack Obama, were aware in part or in full about the plan. As others have mentioned, a second intention of this plan was to perpetuate the myth that American guns are flowing into Mexico, thus creating the violence on the border between the two countries. The idea being that Operation Fast and Furious could be used as a vehicle to institute greater gun control; which is to push forward the Progressive ideal of eliminating 2nd Amendment rights." ...

Senator Coburn an 'insurrectionist,' for being glad he is NOT armed?

"The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) has a long history of referring to people with whom they disagree (including your humble correspondent) as 'insurrectionsts,' guitly of 'treason.' This is rather odd behavior, given the fact that there doesn't seem to be an insurrection going on (can one be an 'insurrectionist,' without an insurrection?), and that the necessarily very narrow definition of treason doesn't seem to apply to any of us who stand accused by CSGV. Today, though, their newest 'insurrectionist' might be the oddest of all. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) now joins the ranks of CSGV-designated 'insurrectionists' . . . for expressing gladness that he did not have a gun. From Politico:" ...

"Elected local officials in Florida have been busy this summer bringing their cities and counties into compliance with a new state law before it takes effect on October 1. The law prohibits local governments from having any law on their books that restricts gun use or ownership to a greater degree than state law. The idea is, primarily, to make it easier for CCW holders to comply with the law no matter where they are in the Sunshine State.
