"This one actually came in as an 'Ask Foghorn,' but I think this is a question better posed to the AI as a whole. Chris writes:""Ive gained an interest in firearms over the past few years after classifying myself as, I suppose, pro-gun control for most of my life (late 20s currently, so it aint that long an era, but oh well). Particularly in the last six months, Ive been researching them a great deal online, particularly your website and Hickok45′s and Mrcolionnoirs Youtube channels" ... |

"I frequently openly hypothesize that gun control advocates are really just projecting their own lack of self-control when they say the average citizen cant be trusted with carrying a firearm for self-defense."
"Theyll say they dont need a gun because the police will protect them. Theyll say that citizens havent been trained or passed the mental screenings police have and arent able to carry a gun without endangering the public. High profile gun control advocates who hire armed security are, in my opinion, the epitome of that projection." ...
"Projection is the root of many arguments against campus concealed carry. People like Ms Hoover express concern that students will settle grade disputes with guns. ..." ... |

Ive always wanted a bolt-action .30-06, and I first gravitated towards the Remington 700, but now Im seriously considering the Mossberg 100 ATR. Price is a major factor, as Im not looking to spend more than $500 for rifle + scope. Point me in the right direction, please sir." "I fully admit this one came in yesterday. Almost immediately, longtime readers of Monderno asked which holster we preferred for inside the waistband (IWB) carry: the Vanguard 2, or the previously reviewed and much loved PHLster Skeleton. So I decided to put together a comparison of the two holsters using my Glock 19, and choose a winner as I see it."

"Last year, Ruger introduced a bold take on the scout rifle concept. The Gunsite Scout is a compact .308 bolt action rifle that is dressed up with some tactical accoutrements. This year, they rolled out the American Rifle, a more traditional bolt action, also in .308 (or .243, . 270, .30-06). Both of these rifles are examples of Ruger's craftsmanship. Despite some obvious visual differences, they do similar things. Yet there are two huge things to consider -- accuracy and the price tag." ... |

"The .380 ACP cartridge, designed by John Moses Browning, is as American as it gets, but it was never as popular in its birthplace as it was in Europe. That is until the advent of shall-issue concealed carry permits and the accompanying demand for diminutive self-defense pistols."
"The Hellcat pistol from Inter Ordnance (I.O., Inc.) is one of the latest examples of the type; a compact, polymer-frame, .380 ACP semi-automatic handgun with six-round capacity.
