The suspect is 18-year-old Viet Trinh, the alleged getaway driver in gun shop robberies last November. According to the Denver Post, a crew has been robbing gun shops across the Denver area. |

Every time somebody comes up with a new, more powerful hypervelocity rifle cartridge, I have to get my hands on it and see what it is like to shoot. How powerful should a rifle be for hunting game on the North American continent? The answer to that question will vary, depending on who you ask. If you ask the salesman at your local gun shop, I think most will ask you some questions about yourself and where and how you plan to hunt. Then they will give you some options that should handle your needs.

A proposal that would repeal Indiana's gun permit law which has failed in the last two legislative sessions has made an unwelcome return. Last week, a legislative committee began reviewing the proposal that would have Indiana join a dozen other states that don't require a license to carry a handgun in public the so-called "constitutional carry." State Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, wants to repeal the gun permit law, arguing that law-abiding citizens shouldn't have to get state permission to carry out their Second Amendment rights. |

According to the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC), 2 million Americans obtained concealed carry permits in 2016, establishing a new annual record for the fourth consecutive year and bringing the total number of citizens with concealed carry permits nationwide to 16.3 million. That is a remarkable number one in every 20 citizens has a concealed carry permit (CCP) considering only 4.5 million Americans had a CCP in 2007. Equally remarkable is the biggest growth in CCPs is among women and minorities. |

During the closing weeks of the Second World War, Free French and British SAS troops carried out an operation in the Netherlands codenamed Operation AMHERST. The mission had the objective of attacking and capturing a series of airfields, bridges and canals in an area 80 miles northeast of Amsterdam. The men who participated in this operation carried two submachine guns in combatthe M1928A1 Thompson and a new design that presented an altogether different appearance. This new Sterling submachine gun (SMG), featuring a unique underfolding stock and straight-walled, side-feeding, detachable-box magazines, can be seen in at least one photograph snapped during a lull in the wartime fighting. |

There are many questions about Arkansas new campus concealed carry law, but the most basic is: when does it go into effect? The simple answer is that the law goes into effect on Friday, Sept. 1 but theres a catch. The law doesnt take effect on the University of Arkansas campus until the Arkansas State Police develops a training process for enhanced concealed carry permits, which are required under the law.

U.S. Rep. Tom Reed is adding his name to a bill that would limit a states authority to regulate rifles and shotguns. During a Tuesday conference call, Reed, R-Corning, said hes cosponsoring U.S. Rep. Chris Collins Second Amendment Guarantee Act bill that would keep states and local governments from further regulating or prohibiting a rifle or shotgun. Collins unveiled legislation in July in a bid to do away with the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act in New York state. |

This Friday, Arkansas' expanded concealed carry law formally goes into effect. People will soon be able to take guns into places they never have before, such as bars, as long as they have an enhanced carry permit. But once that law goes into effect, it may not be obvious to tell which establishments have opted out of expanded carry as "gun free zones." |
