A wild, totally out of control ex-con was shot dead after he crashed his car into a fence, tried to climb onboard a school bus, jumped on two cars and then broke into a house, a Florida sheriff said.

They were trying to control him inside the house, Judd said, according to the paper. He grabbed the glass that didnt break when he broke in and threw it at the homeowner. And that is when they shot him, and he went down.

With pandemic and election news you may not have noticed that, over the summer, there have been about 100 mass shootings in America in which five or more people were shot. To make a dent in this violence, there has been a movement among states toward so-called Red Flag laws. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia have these laws which allow confiscation of firearms if a gun owner raises a Red Flag with threatening behavior. Last fall, we told you that Colorado is one of the latest to adopt Red Flag but, in defiance, nearly half of the state's counties declared themselves 2nd Amendment sanctuaries.

CA: California Bill to Shrink Approved Pistol List Passes

This has been termed as a "slow-motion handgun ban" by pro-2A organizations, as the state's roster of approved guns shrink over the years since no new models can be added and older models fall out of production. For instance, Glock keeps 3rd Generation models in production largely to keep selling guns in California as its 4th and 5th Gen guns cannot be added to the roster.

While AB-2847 gently relaxes the microstamping mandate as it would require that new semi-auto pistols impart characters to one location on ejected shell casings instead of two, it would also require a trio of legacy guns still on the roster be dropped for each new gun with microstamping technology that is added.

Can you feel it? Are you hearing it?

A perfectly horrific human storm of civil unrest is roiling and boiling on the North States horizon. The growing storm is emboldened by local militia groups; strengthened by social media posts that openly call for a revolution against tyranny.

What we are watching in our streets is nothing that happened overnight, its a product of years of social decay, corruption, indoctrination, and just flat out apathy. For as long as I have been active in politics, twenty-five years, which isnt that long, I have seen the decline of this country, the spread of the corrupt cancer thats been eating the heart and soul of America spread from the federal government to the states, to the smallest towns. Its in our colleges, schools, our movies, television shows and in the very fabric of our everyday lives.

If youre going to keep a gun for self-protection, it is incumbent on you to know what the law is regarding self-defense. You should know what your local/state laws are, and also be aware of some of the technical details involved.

Bear in mind that this isnt legal advice and I am not a lawyer. This is a discussion of publicly available information and of ideas pertaining thereto.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported last week that from January through July more than 12 million background checks for the purchase of firearms were processed, an increase of 71 percent from the same period a year earlier. That equates, said the group, to nearly 5 million first-time gun owners in the first seven months of 2020.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat who ordered gun sales halted in the state due to COVID, last week unveiled a plan to hit gun owners with millions in new taxes to fund the state.

...

As detailed in an analysis by the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, under Murphy's new tax scheme, the cost of a pistol purchase permit would increase from $2 to $48-- a 2,300 percent increase-- and Firearms Identification cards would jump from $5 to $98, a spike of over 1,800 percent. All for a permitting scheme that few states outside of New Jersey require.

A group of protestors marched to the Capitol to rally against police brutality and in favor of equality, but the difference in Sundays rally was that most of the protestors were armed with semi-automatic weapons.

Militia groups have showed up to protests with guns before, but this time, groups that normally dont arm themselves, exercised their second amendment rights as well. They were also joined by an unlikely ally.

When the Christian fundraising website GiveSendGo launched in 2016, co-founder Jacob Wells said one of the primary goals was to bring hope to the world.

Apparently, that hope comes in the form of supporting an alleged shooter.

The site has now raised $200,000 (as of this writing) for Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old seen on video shooting protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Hes been charged with two counts of first-degree homicide and one count of attempted homicide.

Bestselling conservative author Ann Coulter's Twitter account was locked, after she tweeted in praise of Kyle Rittenhouse. Her account was locked despite the platform informing her that the tweet did not violate the rules. Coulter adds that the platform also deleted the tweet on her behalf, without giving her a chance to appeal the decision, and says 'it doesn't make sense'.

"I want him as my president, Coulter had said about Rittenhouse, the 17-year old who allegedly shot three people in Kenosha, killing two and injuring one. I decided to appeal it. Im on vacation until after Labor Day anyway. But by appealing, that means I can't tweet until they decide my appeal. So Im guilty until they rule,

A measure on the November ballot will ask voters in a northwestern Oregon county whether it should be a Second Amendment sanctuary.

Voters in Clatsop County will decide whether to prohibit county resources from being used to enforce any local, state and federal law or regulation that restricts the right to keep and bear firearms, accessories or ammunition, The Astorian reported.

Jim Hoffman, a leader in the Clatsop County Republican Party, led the effort to collect over 1,100 signatures to qualify the measure for the ballot.

As protesters march against racism and police violence in cities and towns across the nation, they are being confronted by groups of armed civilians who claim to be assisting and showing support for police battered and overwhelmed by the protests. The confrontations have left at least three people dead in recent days: In addition to the two protesters killed Tuesday in Kenosha, a man thought to be associated with a far-right group called Patriot Prayer was fatally shot late Saturday in Portland, Ore.

Radical right media and legal figures are embracing and defending Kyle Rittenhouse, the Antioch teen charged with a double murder in Kenosha, Wisconsin, who is now in custody in a Vernon Hills juvenile detention facility.

Influential commentators with mass followings, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and Tucker Carlson, have all spoken out in support of Rittenhouse, who is accused of taking matters into his own hands as a sort of citizen soldier when he allegedly shot three people protesting the police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake, killing two of them.

The Florida Attorney General, supported by the NRA as an amicus, filed a petition with the state Supreme Court to disallow the initiative. As they argued, the summary failed to disclose that it would ban virtually all semi-automatic long guns that accept a detachable magazine, since they are capable of holding a magazine of over ten rounds, even if the owner possesses no such magazine. Mention of a ten-round magazine limit would confuse or deceive many voters into thinking that semi-automatic firearms with no such magazine would be lawful. The summary also did not mention that it would repeal much of the Florida Constitutions existing right to keep and bear arms, as traditionally understood.
