Made by P.O. Ackley in the early 1950s, the .17 Hornet is a .17 caliber centerfire rifle cartridge originally known as the wildcat cartridge (born from being a non-factory round). Ackley necked down the .22 Hornet and fire-formed the resized cases, which resulted in a small, quiet cartridge with high-velocity capabilities an ideal round for varmint hunting. |

The 12-gauge shotgun is the most versatile tool for close-range hunting, survival, and self-defense. It can be used to ethically hunt deer with a slug beyond 100 yards (with a scope), kill small game if youre lost in the backcountry and run out of food, or stop an intruder during a home invasion. But there are ongoing, passionate debates among shotgun aficionados on whether the semi-auto or pump is the best all-around platform. There are valid arguments for both operating systemsthe Benelli M3 Super 90, a hybrid pump and semi-auto, ends them all.

Shiny new lightweight guns are all the rage, and I can appreciate that. The Rock River Arms LAR-15 and specifically my used law enforcement trade-in rifle is none of those things. But for the last several months, it has been my favorite AR-15 to shoot. You have to set aside a little bit of snobbery to really appreciate this used gun. It has some cosmetic nicks and dings, but the gun itself has been a tank for me personally. More than that, it has a ton of extra features that make it a great value if you actually intend to shoot it like it was meant to be used.

A lengthy section of his campaign website described his ambitions for new gun control, with headings such as Keep guns out of dangerous hands and Make sure firearm owners take on the responsibility of ensuring their weapons are used safely. Specific policies he supported included legislation requiring firearm owners to store weapons safely and legislation to require gun owners to inform law enforcement if their weapon is lost or stolen. |

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has submitted a response to the proposed rule change by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives regarding stabilizer braces on pistols arguing the proposed rule will threaten millions of citizens with prison, harsh fines, forfeiture of firearms, and the loss of the right to own or possess firearms should they fail to comply with ATFs policy change. CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb notes in his letter to the ATFs Office of Regulatory Affairs that the agencys proposed rule is a complete reversal of its position nine years ago. |

As part of the campaign to stigmatize firearms and legitimate firearm owners, gun control advocates and their allies on the left have targeted anything that resembles or is used as a proxy for a gun partially chewed pop tarts, fingers (a level 2 lookalike firearm), Halloween costume props, and ordinary toys. There are more examples than we could possibly list in this space, but a sampling of the hysterical reaction to anything remotely gun-like includes... |
