After being liberated and cleared of all charges Rittenhouse moved to Texas where he continuously advocates for gun rights.

Hes tried to oppose a Texas House of Representatives bill that vainly tried to raise the minimum age from 18 to 21 to be able to purchase any automatic firearm.

As many have commented on X formally known as Twitter, countless amounts of people are on edge about Rittenhouse starting a non-profit anti-gun control foundation.

There are already so many other cases of teenagers using guns illegally and for all the wrong reasons.

Humberto Del Campo told investigators he acted in self-defense, shooting his stepson Joel Leonel Pichel when Pichel became physically aggressive during an argument at the family's home in The Acreage in August 2020 and even threatened to grab a knife.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office investigators challenged Del Campo's version of the encounter, arresting him on a second-degree murder charge. On Monday, just over three years after his arrest, Del Campo was set free after a jury found him not guilty.

Baldacci has drafted legislation that would make it a criminal offense to offer training in firearms, explosives or other tactics with the intent of causing a "civil disorder." The prohibition would not apply to training for law enforcement, self-defense programs, military science students, firearms instruction on safe use of guns or any legal shooting sports.

Maine State Police say they know there are concerns about the Springfield camp but that they are unaware of any illegal activity there under current laws. So Baldaccis proposal, in addition to creating a new "civil disorder" offense, would also allow the attorney general or a district attorney to ask a court to block such camps.

Its been a tumultuous week in Fairfield Countys neighbor to the north, where a man wrongfully jailed for murder has been freed and two high-ranking city leaders have been dismissed from their posts.

The city shakeup was set into motion at an August 15 hearing to determine whether William Caldwell III was justified in killing Corey Marcelle Bennett.

Jailed since his January 22 arrest, Caldwell never wavered from his story that he acted in self-defense, said Kay Boulware, the deputy public defender who represented Caldwell.

The Biden administration continues to find ways to break faith with Americas veterans. Beyond the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and the unanswered questions left after 13 U.S. service members were killed in a suicide bombing in the final stages of evacuations from Kabul, Afghanistan, White House officials are robbing veterans of the rights they fought to protect.

Dont blame politicians for mass shootings; they didnt pull trigger

Gun ownership should not be the issue.

Partisan rhetoric is not the answer.

And blaming politicians who dont vote a preferred way will never be the solution.

Yet after another mass shooting, this time in Jacksonville, some are once again invoking the above to find a panacea that stops such tragedies.

But they wont find solace, because if you dont know the cause of a problem, you cannot solve it.

Blaming guns and calling for bans are ill-fated tactics not sound strategies that stand little chance of improving anything.

On Friday, Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) reintroduced the Defending Veterans' Second Amendments Rights Act, an effort to protect the Second Amendment rights of the brave men and women who have served our nation.

Representative Roy said,Americas heroes should never have to fear losing their God-given right to self-defense simply for seeking the care they have earned in the process of protecting our republic.

So I own a new Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model-19 Carry Comp Revolver. I picked it up at the Camarillo Gun Store in California last month. I keep a revolver on my CCW list. (California allows you only a few guns that must be identified by serial number). Since this is an S&W Performance Center product, the expert in-house gunsmiths at S&W have fine-tuned this K-Comp to make it even better than the already great stock model-19. Their work on the trigger has made it really nice to shoot.

Four Eighth Circuit Judges Argue That Felons Don't Categorically Lose Second Amendment Rights

By cutting off as-applied challenges to the federal felon-in-possession statute, Jackson and Cunningham [two recent Eighth Circuit panel opinions] give "second-class" treatment to the Second Amendment. Even worse, they create a group of second-class citizens: felons who, for the rest of their lives, cannot touch a firearm, no matter the crime they committed or how long ago it happened. I dissent from the decision to deny rehearing en banc.

The federal law prohibiting handgun sales to adults under 21 years old violates the Second Amendment and should be blocked across the entire country, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

Senior Judge Robert Payne of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ruled the sales ban unconstitutional in May. He then asked the plaintiffs and government to agree to a path forward in issuing an injunction. Because the parties couldnt agree, he sided with the plaintiffs on Wednesday and issued a nationwide injunction against the law.

Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco).

MO: Second Amendment shouldn't overrule common sense on guns

How many more mass shootings do there need to be before common-sense gun laws are passed? The Second Amendment, which references a "well-regulated militia," was written before modern weapons of war were invented. The mayor of St. Louis wants a ban on these weapons, but has been met with opposition based on the Second Amendment.

How many lawmakers are in the pocket of the National Rifle Association? The people of Missouri and the country want and deserve an answer.

A 22-minute hearing in Sherman, Texas, Wednesday set the terms for the defendants imminent release after six months in jail. It marked the latest twist in an extraordinary yet low-profile case at the intersection of the Second Amendment and national security.

The firearm charge against Ali Hemani, 26, appears to have served the same purpose as when its often brought against suspects in terrorism, organized crime, and other complex casesto keep him in jail while building a more complex investigation.

But the law that allowed Hemanis February arrest for being a gun-owning drug user has now backfired on the government from an unlikely source: the conservative Second Amendment legal movement.

I cannot imagine how police officers felt, metaphorically handcuffed, unable to do much about Metcalf who had a vendetta, a shotgun, right across the street from more than 400 students. His interactions with the Billings Police Department stretch back a decade, with a 2013 incident that got him flagged as a potential danger to officers when Metcalf was carrying a loaded .22 rifle.

Meanwhile, school officials were left with a tarp.

Federal officials were able to do slightly better, arresting Metcalf because he was violating federal law by having a weapon within 1,000 feet of a school a measure that many Congressional Republicans have advocated to repeal.

The Tennessee Legislatures special session on public safety, held in the shadow of the states deadliest school shooting, ended Tuesday with no significant changes to the states gun laws and only a narrow slate of bills sending more money toward public safety issues. The session adjourned just a day after Republicans prohibited Representative Justin Jones, one of the so-called Tennessee Three, from speaking under controversial new House rules. Families close to The Covenant School shooting have increasingly lamented the legislative process.

The Jacksonville shooting is yet another in a long line of unconscionable mass shootings. Although mental illness and/or racial hatred can be cited as a root cause of such incidents, it is not coincidental that many are carried out by perpetrators dressed in body armor carrying AR-15s, mimicking the violence we see every day in popular culture. These incidents are taking place in a country in which there are more guns than people unthinkable in a civilized society.

The estate of Joseph Rosenbaum is suing Rittenhouse, Kenosha officials, local sheriffs departments, the City of Kenosha, the City of West Allis and several counties for "compensatory and punitive damages" for the "wrongful death" of Rosenbaum, according to a report in Texas Scorecard.

"These lawsuits are making it harder and harder for me to move on with my life," Rittenhouse told Texas Scorecard.

"It is extremely difficult to go outside without fear of being harassed or assaulted because of the lies spread in these lawsuits. No one should have to continue to defend the fact that they acted in self-defense."

An attorney challenging Illinois gun and magazine ban is looking to block the law on grounds it is too vague and if that doesnt work, hell challenge the law on Fifth Amendment grounds.

Consolidated Second Amendment challenges in front of the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals are still pending. Oral arguments were heard June 29. Attorney Thomas Maag, who represents plaintiffs in the case Langley v. Kelly, said hes ready to argue in the Southern District that previous precedent proves the law is unconstitutional.

Springfield Armory v. The City of Columbus specifically, well find that the firearm and magazine ban is, if not completely, at least largely, unconstitutionally vague, Maag told The Center Square.

We can rake through statistics and news stories and we will still find that every single sad firearm event shares one element: Someone had access sometimes legal access to a firearm.

Yet every time it happens, we cast our net into the same waters, seeking answers. We wring our hands over our lack of mental health services and yes, we are in a mental health crisis. Earlier this year, the U.S. surgeon general said the crisis in mental health among our children is the defining public health crisis of our time.

But a mental health crisis is not it.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley has denounced the state governments recent decision to require background checks for all ammunition purchases in New York.

While the current system allows for free customer background checks for firearm purchases, the initiative would hand over this duty to the New York State Police, Hawley, R-Batavia said in a news release. Once this new system goes into effect, customers will be charged an additional fee of $9 for firearms and $2.50 for ammunition in order to cover the cost of a background check.

Most Republicans did not engage on the topic of restricting firearm access. I think its good to remember that Tennessee is not just Nashville, Tennessee is not just Memphis, said State Representative Jeremy Faison, a member of the House Republican leadership, according to the New York Times. Theres literally no one in my district asking me to do anything like what they asked.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them. George Mason, during Virginia's Convention to Ratify the Constitution (1788)
