"As I listen to some of the BS from those who want to keep free people from protecting themselves ... I sometimes want to say, 'Gosh, Toto, were not in Kansas anymore.' I couldn't have said that ten days or so ago, when I was in Kansas, teaching a MAG-20 course on the rules of engagement for armed citizens. Kansas was one of those states which, not so long ago, had no provision for ordinary folks to carry loaded, concealed handguns in public. Now, thanks to lots of good, committed activists, they have egalitarian 'shall issue' carry. There has been no blood in the streets, except maybe now and then the blood of violent criminals who suffered a sudden and acute failure of the victim selection process ..." ... |

"When the story recently broke that Chiappa Firearms was going to start installing RFID chips in all their guns, I had deep misgivings. When I read the PR broadside from their publicists at MKS, I cringed. Like most shooters, I dont want anyone to have even the theoretical technical ability to point a Tricorder or an RF scanner at me and know exactly what Im packing, where it was made, and how much I paid for it."
"I didnt think any gunmaker would be so foolish as to set me up like Will Smiths character in Enemy Of The State, so I called Chiappas president Ron Norton for clarification." ... |

"'No other state has produced more guns seized by police in the brutal Mexican drug wars than Texas,' the Washington Post reported last year in a lengthy investigative report on guns in America. "The Second Amendment Foundation today applauded both the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the National Rifle Association, the latter joining with J&G Sales of Prescott, AZ, for filing federal lawsuits against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives over a new reporting requirement aimed at gun dealers in four Southwest States."
"'Based on revelations from the investigations into the ATF's botched Operation Fast and Furious,' said SAF Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb, 'it was the agency's own ineptitude, not any questionable conduct by firearms dealers, that allowed hundreds if not thousands of firearms to make it into the wrong hands. ..." ... |

"Like the Brady Campaign Against America, Im downsizing. Now that I downsized my home by a couple of thousand square feet Im all cozy and dont have quite as much vacuuming to do. My cats are happier because they hate the vacuum cleaner, and Im happier because I have more time to visit the range. I also downsized my waistline by six inches, and now I can actually tell whether my socks match without taking them off and holding them up to eye level under a strong light. And just to keep the theme going, Id like to downsize my carry gun from my current compact .40 . . ." ... |

"NCO Sgt. Kerry Proffitt likes the new M26 12-Gauge Modular Accessory Shotgun System (MASS). At least in theory. 'This may come in handy as an attachment to the M-4 for non-lethal purposes,' the Missouri National Guardsman told pulaskicountydaily.com. 'That way we can maneuver quickly between non-lethal and lethal ammunition use the shotgun for non-lethal and the rifle for lethal purposes . . . We can breach through a door real fast and then use our rifles. We can also use the shotgun for its scatter shot ability, in case there are multiple targets in one general area.' Yes well, some of you may wondering why we didnt put the MASS in our What Could Possibly Go Wrong category. ..." ... |

"The ACRs designers didnt exactly start with a blank piece of paper, but they addressed many of the AR-15′s platforms perceived flaws. The ACR sports ambidextrous controls. Its rid of the buffer tube. It moves away from direct impingement. It offers a consistent cheek weld. The end result: a reliable, low-maintenance rifle with sensible fire controls. And yet all is not entirely well in Bushmasters world. Lets go straight to the range . . ." ... |

"Representative Darrel Issa (R-CA) referred to the activities of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Operation Fast and Furious as 'felony stupid.' Others have suggested that the plan was intentionally designed and cleverly crafted to bolster statistics in support of stricter gun control laws. Whether the operation was just stupid or intentionally criminal, it was clearly bad behavior on the part of ATF and Justice Department (DOJ) and such bad behavior should not be rewarded."

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. Joseph Sobran |
