Protecting our students at school is a difficult problem. We are trying to stop evil narcissists who want to become celebrities by killing our kids. Formulaic answers dont work for long because these murderers learn and adapt. The actions that protected our children yesterday might not work tomorrow.

There are better solutions today and we need to recognize them.

A man was shot and killed in a residential area of the 600 block of Dent Street after the two, who knew each other, had an argument, said TPD spokesperson Heather Merritt. Few details have been released about the circumstances of the incident, but when announcing the shooting, officials noted a suspect was being questioned by investigators.

"We quickly detained the second individual but there wasn't probable cause at the time of interview for an arrest," Merritt said.

When asked if the suspect had claimed the shooting was self defense, Merritt said she could provide no additional details.

On Monday, Eric Adams announced a plan to combat gun violence in New York City, committing $485 million to a slate of initiatives largely aimed at prevention more job training and expanded mental health care among others. It would focus on six precincts in the Bronx and Brooklyn, where nearly a quarter of the citys shootings last year took place, a seemingly wise, data-driven use of resources.

A 75-year-old California woman used a gun in self-defense during a home invasion in crime-plaguedOakland. The armed home invaders retreated after being confronted by the strapped homeowner.

Two home intruders reportedly kicked down the front door of an Oakland residence around 2 a.m. on July 27. The armed robbers searched the home for valuables and then went to the bedroom. The burglars allegedly demanded the homeowner hand over her cell phone.

The homeowner, a 75-year-old woman, turned the tables on the robbers by drawing her .357 Magnum. When there was an opportunity, the woman allegedly fired one shot at the armed robbers. The burglars responded by firing approximately 20 shots before fleeing the home.

Traditional western holsters just dont look right unless theyve got a hammer thong instead of a strap and snap

Those of us who grew up digesting a steady diet of big and small screen westerns are certainly familiar with holsters and sixguns, and whatever else we gleaned from watching heroes and villains, we became familiar with the signal.

You know; when some hombre visibly reached down, pulled the leather loop from around the hammer of his shootin iron, it was the signal somebody was about to get drilled. Plugged. Okay, shot down like a dirty dog.

When it comes to self-defense weapons, packing the right one for your lifestyle is an important part of maximizing your personal readiness. Just like not every shoe will fit on every foot, not every weapon is suitable for every situation and every personal preference.

But, state laws tend to complicate the matter because what weapons are legal or illegal can vary hugely from one state to the next. A common weapon thats completely legal in one state might be totally forbidden in the next.

Lets look at the laws in Pennsylvania. What self-defense weapons are legal there?

Results from a Rutgers University New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center study, released in late June, indicate the number of Americans who own guns could be twice that of the widely accepted figure of roughly 30 percent. Applying a probability model based on a statistical analysis of 3,500 respondents, the researchers determined reluctance to provide personal details to a strangerparticularly when asked about home- and personal-defense choicesminimized results of previous efforts at determining the figure. The new report indicates the number is considerably higher and may run all the way up to 60 percent.

President Bidens gun agenda was dealt a final blow in court this week. And The Reloads exclusive reporting was cited in the decision.

A Fifth Circuit panel found the Presidents pistol-brace ban unlawful. If you look at the footnotes, youll find a reference to The Reloads story on the aftermath of the rule going into effect. If you zoom out from the brace ban, though, youll also notice this is the third loss in a row for ATF rules the Biden Administration has implemented or defended.

Surprisingly, none of them were defeated on Second Amendment grounds. I explain in a piece for members what legal theory gun-rights advocates used to beat them instead.

On August 2, after consultation with the Commonwealths Attorneys Office, the death was ruled to be justified based on the investigation and final autopsy report from the Medical Examiners Office, therefore no charges will be placed sought.

The victim told them he had no idea what they were talking about, but they did not leave. Thats when (he) pulled out a gun from his waistband in hopes of scaring the guys off. But they did not back off and thats when the victim fired a warning shot, said Chief Addison.

The shrapnel from the warning shot is said to have hit one of the men. Both of the men who got into the argument with the man jogging were transported to a hospital.

At this time, Chief Anderson said it appears to be a case of self-defense. No charges have been filed as the two alleged suspects are not cooperating.

A federal judge on Thursday rejected a request to temporarily block Connecticut's landmark 2013 gun control law, passed after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, until a gun rights group's lawsuit against the statute has concluded.

U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven ruled the National Association for Gun Rights has not shown that the state's ban on certain assault weapons and large-capacity ammunition magazines, or LCMs, violates the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms or that such weapons are commonly bought and used for self-defense.

A domestic dispute turned violent when a 35-year-old adult male forced his way into a bedroom occupied by another family. The father of that second family defended his child and shot the intruder when the family members were cornered in the bedroom. The police are often slow to close an investigation, and this case took 14 months before the defender was confident he wouldnt be charged.

The report implies that the two families were living in the same home. The 35-year-old, identified as Travis Kenyon, was fighting with one of the women who lived in the home. After that fight, the homeowner told Kenyon that he would have to move out the next day. The confrontation became more heated from there.

Second Amendment Isnt Whats Sinking Bidens Gun Actions

The federal courts have quickly dismantled President Joe Bidens gun agenda over the past few months. And theyve done it without citing Second Amendment protections.

At first glance, this seems odd since the Supreme Court broadened what kind of conduct is protected by the amendment during the same period. In 2022s New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen, SCOTUS found the Second Amendment protected public gun carry in the same way gun ownership is protected under 2008s District of Columbia v. Heller. Since then, federal courts have blocked multiple ATF rules seeking to reclassify, restrict, or ban bump stocks, unfinished gun parts, and firearms equipped with pistol braces.

We urge them to do so.

The mission is to raise awareness and promote firearm safety. Organizations across the country and particularly in Tennessee are trying to voice their concerns and get the change they want to see as much as possible. They are also working to keep the conversation over gun reform going.

The Ware Police Department issued a scathing letter concerning Massachusetts gun bills.

It reads as follows:

After a series of closed-door meetings, the House has slithered away from its plan to smuggle the anti-gun Bill under our noses this summer, resetting their sights on the fall session and hoping that the concerns of their Constituents will fade away with the passing of time.

In the past, there were never many options for 10mm ammo, and picking the best cartridge wasnt that hard. But things are different today. Just as the 10mm Autos little botherthe 40 S&W (short & weak)is losing its appeal, the interest in the 10mm is on the rise. A major online retailer lists more than fifty 10mm Auto loads to choose from. That, as you can imagine, complicates the process of selecting the right cartridge for the right application. And thats why I tested various 10mm loadsso you dont have to go through the trial and error process and fire hundreds of rounds to find the perfect bullet. Here is the best 10mm ammo currently available.

Another Senate Democrat is pressing the Biden administration over its decision to strip federal funding for school archery and hunter education courses nationwide.

Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., sent a letter Wednesday to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, urging him to reverse his agency's interpretation of last year's Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA). The agency's interpretation has resulted in funding for shooting sport activities earmarked under the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) being blocked across the country.

Ed.: Sen. Tester voted for the bill; this is a mess he made.

Gun rights activists are projecting confidence in response to the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention leader saying she is receptive to the Biden administration's call to frame gun violence as a public health matter.

"The American public at this juncture isn't willing to give up more of their freedoms and their rights and their privileges to the government under the guise of health," Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, told the Washington Examiner.

A new law that took effect earlier this week expands background checks to most gun transfers in Minnesota, whether it's a private sale, gift, or loan.

The provision, which was included in a large public safety package approved by the DFL-led legislature this year, applies to pistols and semi-automatic military-style weapons. Anyone who wants to buy or receive one from another person not licensed to sell by the federal government needs to apply for a permit to purchase or permit to carry, which triggers a background check.

Chang said she plans to introduce legislation this fall that would make it illegal for Michiganders convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence to purchase or possess a firearm for eight years. The rulewhich already exists in federal lawwould allow county prosecutors to better enforce the restriction and protect women from being killed as a result of domestic abuse, Chang said.

Michigan currently has no laws on the books that prohibit those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from buying or possessing guns and ammunition. In other words, there is nothing in state law to ensure that the federal restriction is actually enforced.
