... "How this could be construed as 'reasonable' in any U.S. court, especially with the Supreme Court having specifically found a right to keep a gun in the home in two separate cases, is unclear, but this could be a case where a specific conflict between private property rights and the right of tenants to keep and bear arms is tested. And the video accompanying the 9News report indicates more such bans may be on the way." ... -------

"A retired U.S. Marine who has contributed over the years to both the Second Amendment Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is in trouble today in Castle Rock, Colo., where his landlord has decided that either he must get rid of his guns, or find a new place to live."
"The dilemma facing Arthur Dorsch, 77, may be a sign of the times, or of tougher times to come for gun owners who rent rather than own their own homes. National Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea weighs in here, and Dorschs story has also gotten the attention of the local NBC affiliate, ... and The Blaze."

"This column recently reported that some Missouri Democrats were planning to vote to overturn Governor Jay Nixon's (D) veto of Missouri HB 436, the 'Second Amendment Preservation Act,' ... HB 436 would render all federal gun laws that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms (all of them, in other words) null and void, and criminalize enforcement of such laws."
"Now, according to the Riverfront Times, local attorney, Washington University School of Law adjunct professor, and husband of one of the most stridently anti-gun voices in the Missouri legislature Burton Newman is threatening a lawsuit to block implementation of the law, should the veto override succeed. His 'reasoning' should sound familiar:" ... |

"The NRA has picked the XDs 9mm as the gun of the year. Really? At 23 ounces it is heavier than the XDs .45 acp model. It is 8 ounces heavier than my Sig P938 which has the same capacity. It is much heavier than the Kahr PM9 or very economical CM9. We could also mention the LC9, PF9 and others all much lighter than the XDs. However the marketing machine of Springfield has been plastering the gun rags with pictures of the XDs showing how thin it is. So many gun owners today really know little about guns other than what they own and even then, some cannot even tell you much about the gun they carry. I have to assume that many do not know that a lot of lighter guns exists out there; one or two are even thinner." ... |
