He's since pleaded guilty to charges including possessing a digital blueprint for the manufacture of firearms, manufacturing a pistol without a licence permit, and possessing an unauthorised pistol. |

While most of us would always agree that a handgun is the most effective weapon for self-defense, today we at The Caller are wondering what knives our readers would carry if they ever found themselves gunless and in trouble. Now, there is a saying that the loser of a knife fight dies at the scene while the winner gets to die at the hospital. Nobody wants to find themselves in the middle of a knife fight. There arent any winners. |

The debate over 3D-printed guns blew up last week. Many people rightly see this issue as being about the Second Amendment right to bear arms, its also about the First Amendment and free speech. The plans for a basic 3D-printed gun have been around for a couple of years, but the federal government prohibited online publication. Texas-based Defense Distributed challenged that policy in court. The case dragged on for a couple of years until the Trump administration recently settled. Online publication could start Aug. 1. |

David Hogg has spent his first summer out of high school leading rallies from coast to coast. He's one of the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting that left 17 people dead. Still, he says he supports the 2nd amendment. "It's ok if you own a gun. My father's a gun owner. Before i went on this tour, to learn about gun safety, I disassembled and assembled his gun." But he and his fellow students want what they call "common sense gun laws", including universal background checks and a ban on semi-automatic assault rifles.

The City of Lufkin voted unanimously to repeal the current city ordinance about firing guns inside the city limits. Instead, the city will lean on state-wide gun laws. The city's ordinance hasn't been updated since the early 1900s. Director of Public Safety Gerald Williamson said Lufkin police brought this issue to the city because the ordinance was very limited.

In fact, the loss of life in Chicago is so frequent that it is treated as routine. Listen to this weeks episode of Bullets as AWR describes how the Chicago example highlights the inhumanity of gun control. |

Arming teachers is more than a theory. Armed school staff are now a well-worn reality.
The FASTER program teaches school staff to stop a threat and to treat the injured. That program has been in place for the last five years and has trained over a thousand teachers. We have thousands of man-years of experience with armed school staff.
School is about to start in the fall, and this is what we know. |

Facebook is asking banks to share customers financial information in a climate where corporate America is blacklisting gun manufacturers and businesses or groups that support the Second Amendment. On March 23, 2018, Breitbart News reported Citibanks new corporate gun controls which bar gun store customers from selling high-capacity magazines and require those same stores to refuse long gun sales to 18 to 20-year-old Americans, even though it is legal to sell long guns to 18 to 20-year-olds. |

NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox has never been one to back down from a fight for our firearms freedom, and he carried the message of the NRAs commitment to preserving the Second Amendment to Turning Point USAs High School Leadership Summit. Part of the message was simple: If the British couldnt take our guns, and if the Nazis couldnt take our guns, then the anti-gunners that are part of todays push against us wont either. |

Suppose you were tasked with whittling an imaginary gun collection down to the fewest number of firearms needed to ethically pursue every game animal in North America. Which firearms and chamberings would you include? Heres the answer. Hunters never ask the question, Should I buy another gun? Instead, we ask, Whats the next gun I should buy? A large part of the latter question is often answered by what cartridge the gun will be chambered in and what well use it for in the field, as every hunting firearm has a purpose. Going on an elk hunt in Montana? As fun as it is to shoot and as accurate as it might be, a .243 Winchester just wont do, so its time to go shopping. |

Imagine the following scenario. Imagine the media response. By October, the governor of Texas was fed up. A well-funded ten-month campaign by Everytown for Gun Safety designed to stigmatize gun ownership was causing support for gun rights to measurably decline. Called You afraid? the campaign mocked men and women who carried weapons to grocery stores or restaurants. An associated courage campaign asked mothers to hand back their carry licenses, and while most didnt, the dozens who did received international media attention. |
