A 70-year-old New York veteran spent months fighting to get his guns back after being wrongfully targeted for confiscation after a bureaucratic screw-up labeled him mentally ill. Don Hall, who served in Vietnam, said police showed up at his house late one night with an order to take his guns. Hall said he was surprised by the order and didn't have any idea why it declared him "mentally defective." When he told police he hadn't ever had any mental issues, they told him he must've done something to trigger the state's restrictive New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act.

Camilla was Roy Weatherbys wife, and by all accounts she was a class act. So it is fitting that Weatherbys first womens-specific rifle carries her name. After range testing, I took the Camilla hunting in Namibia. The Camilla is built around the proven Vanguard Series 2 action and comes with Weatherbys sub-MOA guarantee. Its offered in .243 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Rem., and .308 Win. All have a 13-inch length-of-pull, 20-inch blued barrel, 5+1 magazine capacity (4+1 for the Creedmoor), and weigh around 6  pounds. The rifle sports a Turkish walnut stock with rosewood accents and a satin finish, with a subtle fleur-de-lis motif in the checkering on the wrist and forend.

Forming a proper sight picture, trigger control and a steady hand are all important skills that shooting enthusiasts have to work diligently to develop. On the other hand, getting a favorite shooting iron good and dirty is pretty easy to do. Whether you pound through hundreds of rounds during a competition weekend or youre firing just a few shots to sight in for the big hunt, its important to keep guns running reliably throughout the shooting event and to clean them up quickly when the day is done.

Should law-abiding U.S. citizens be required to show a good reason to obtain a concealed carry permit or license, and should they also be willing to give up their Second Amendment rights in order to provide foster care or adopt a child? These are questions that may begin to haunt the courts, courtesy of the Second Amendment Foundation. While SAF has become something of a legal powerhouse in gun rights litigation over the past several years it was a SAF case, McDonald v. City of Chicago that brought essential nullification of the Chicago handgun ban and incorporated the Second Amendment to the states in 2010 one might not see them mentioned often in gun rights court case.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894).
