A homeowner is being questioned after shooting and killing a man outside an apartment complex parking lot early Friday morning, the Houston Police Department said.
Submitter's note: These thiefs steal thousands of catalytic converters costing the victims several thousand dollars to replace and in some cases loss of the use of the vehicle for several months. I say good riddance. |

Buried in a 698-word gun control Op-Ed appearing in the Seattle Times is a carefully-worded pitch for electing anti-gunners in November.
As weve made clear, insist co-authors Renee Hopkins and Margaret Heldring, so much meaningful action relies on our elected officials, which means it is essential that we vote to support candidates who will prioritize action to address the gun violence epidemic. We need champions at every level of government, not just in Congress, who will stand up to the gun lobby. |

If there were ever two handgun cartridges that could be classified as ubiquitously American, then it would be the 45 Long Colt and the 45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP). With a combined service life of over two centuries, both have served as the sidearm cartridge for the U.S. Army and are still used in various applications today in civilian circles. |

If the old chestnut concerning lies, damn lies and statistics was referring to a U.S. president, it would almost certainly be current President Joe Biden (D). That fact was proven, once again, during the presidents late-August campaign-style appearance in Pennsylvania. Speaking to an audience at Wilkes University, Biden made another one of his preposterous statements about the AR-15a type of semi-automatic rifle that he loves to hate and wants to ban. |

This evening, I took a stroll around Midtown Manhattan with a goal: locate a Times Square Gun Free Zone sign. I entered the Second Amendment safe space at 6th Avenue and 49th Street. But I saw no sign! Then I walked to Broadway and 49th Street. Still no sign! I walked down Broadway to 43rd Street. I saw no signs.

Setting their sights on tenure in Texas, critical race theory in Oklahoma, transgender athletes in Idaho and academic freedom in Florida, radical Republican legislatures have effectively announced that higher education is now one of their preferred targets. As public colleges and universities are drawn into the nations culture wars, we may well wonder what can stop legislatures, in league with like-minded governors, from rendering higher education a mere handmaiden of their right-wing agendas.

A new law restricting the carry of firearms in most public areas of the Empire State has an unintended consequence when it comes to historical commemorations. Following a 6-3 ruling this summer from the U.S. Supreme Court concerning New York's unconstitutional "may issue" concealed carry permitting scheme, state lawmakers scrambled to pass a flurry of new anti-gun bills in a matter of days. Breathlessly signed into law by Kathy Hochul, New York's unelected governor, these included NY Senate Bill S51001 which bans the carry of legally possessed firearms-- even with a permit-- in "sensitive" places. |

You dont need to be a shotgun connoisseur to understand a nice shotgun when you pick it up. I am neither a connoisseur nor even a serious shotgunner, but Ive shot enough of the finer ones to know what it feels like. Today, well venture into yet another story about a handsome Browning Citori over-under double. Better yet, well check out the 16-gauge model, which is brand new to me. |
