Anti-gunners who voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton expecting her to hammer the Second Amendment community should be rejoicing that their candidate lost and Donald Trump is in the Oval Office.
After all, thats sort of the message one takes away from a Fortune article that reported Monday a sales slump in firearms, and gave credit to Trumps electoral victory in 2016. But it may only seem that way to anti-gunners, because the Trump presidency just might make turn their anti-gun dream into a nightmare. |

CAMP PERRY - Women at the National Rifle Association are taking aim at any remaining misconception that shooting is more of a mens hobby.
On Saturday, the NorthCoast Marksmanship Club hosted an official NRA Women on Target instructional shooting clinic at the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at Camp Perry.
The course teaches gun safety, handling, operation and storage of firearms. Hands-on instruction about the loading and unloading of a firearm, as well as the fundamentals of marksmanship and shooting sports, were among the many other topics covered during the six-hour clinic.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is leading a revival. Its not the kind that occurs under a big tent full of folding chairs, fiery sermons and hallelujahs, but the kind that occurs when hunters, fishermen and outdoorsmen in general feel liberated from the shackles of an overbearing federal government; when they experience anew the freedom to take their guns and gear into Americas wild places and fish and hunt the way their fathers and grandfathers fished and hunted before them.

When I was growing up, I viewed gunsall gunswith an equal degree of awe and enthusiasm. One such rifle that turned my extremely impressionable 7-year-old head was the Armalite AR-7 Explorer survival rifle. Perhaps one of the most well-known survival rifles ever created, the AR-7 was originally designed by M16-creator Eugene Stoner, and has seen service with U.S. Air Force pilots and aircrewmen as a survival rifle since 1959. With its hollow stock and takedown capability, for me it was puppy love at first sight. |

SIG Sauer has taken multiple runs at the polymer-handgun market. Its first attempt at a polymer-framed pistol, the SIGPro, was not an overwhelming success on the U.S. commercial handgun scene. While the SP2022 variant enjoyed some large overseas contract sales, the conventional DA/SA action was out of fashion in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with one trigger pull being an advertising buzzword used by the competition. |

Three days of lost pay may not seem like much, not worth arguing over for more than three years. But when an arbitration panel ruled last month that biology teacher Greg Schiller should get that money back, he and his many supporters saw a much greater victory. They view the resolution in Schillers favor as overdue vindication for an instructor who just wanted to teach science, but whose efforts fell victim to ignorance, overreaction and bureaucratic one-size-fits-all, by-the-rules stubbornness.

In the 1800s, canes were seen as an indispensable fashion accessory, and it was assumed that any man of good social standing wouldnt leave home without one. There were canes for every occasion, and women carried them as well. By the late 1850s, Remington Arms was looking to capitalize on this trend and began to manufacture cane guns that enabled dapper gentlemen to combine a de rigueur fashion accessory with a personal defense firearm.

Safety is a concern in the real estate industry and its not limited to female agents. Recent NAR survey data show that a quarter of men in the business carry a gun to protect themselves. The survey is based on a sample of the NAR membership. Almost 49,000 members were sent the survey and a little under 3,300 responded, for a response rate of 6.7 percent. That puts the margin of error at plus or minus 1.72 percent. |
