"It is appropriate for a nation to fight a war in its own defense, especially when war has been openly declared upon it. But in doing so, we must resolutely resist the call to sacrifice that which makes the United States of America a country worth defending our inalienable rights and our individual freedom." --Vox Day |

From a Canadian commentator: "I can name you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake. Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around."
KABA NOTE: And more than once America aided other countries with our guns and saved the day. But we cannot forget that we WERE aided by the French in our Revolutionary War against Great Britian. |

The Senate ... approved legislation that would make it easier for the FBI to get warrants for electronic surveillance of computer transmissions.
And, in fact, approved the "Combating Terrorism Act of 2001," which enhances police wiretap powers and permits monitoring in more situations.
