David Dudenhoefer, Republican nominee for Michigans 13th Congressional District, is raffling an AR-15 rifle as a symbol of support for 2nd Amendment rights and a campaign fundraising tool.
Dudenhoefer is running against incumbent U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, in a left-leaning district.
The gun giveaway is part of a month-long contest Dudenhoefer is holding for his supporters, who are encouraged to become monthly contributors to his campaign, according to a Sept. 16 press release.
I am a proud advocate of Americans right to self-defense as enshrined in the Bill of Rights, Dudenhoefer said. |

An 85-year-old man has died after being stabbed multiple times at a Meijer Wednesday in Adrian, Mich.
Adrian police say the stabbing happened around 12:30 p.m. at the Meijer in Adrian, which is about 75 miles southwest of Detroit.
Adrian Police Chief Vincent Emrick said a woman armed with a handgun ordered the suspect, a 29-year-old Adrian man, to the floor and held him until officers arrived. When police got to the store the suspect was arrested.
Police say the 85-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times in the head and heck and was pronounced dead at the scene. A knife believed used in the stabbing was found on a store shelf. |

"There was evidence that was gathered and presented to the grand jury about activity that Jake Gardner was engaged in prior to even coming in contact with James Scurlock," he said, according to KETV. "Evidence to reasonably be construed as an intent to use a firearm for purposes of killing someone. You will want to know what it is, and I can't tell you about it. But what I can tell you is that that evidence comes primarily from Jake Gardner himself."
Gardner posted on Facebook that night he planned a "military style fire watch" at his bar, NPR reported. |

Berry said that after the shooting and other violent incidents in his town, he agonized over whether God would approve of him carrying a concealed weapon to help defend himself or others. He eventually decided that the answer is yes.
If a violent crime is happening, or if a woman is being raped, is it wrong, scripturally, to defend that person so they dont die? he told Religion News Service in a recent phone interview. |

Last time, we started off by talking about the nuts and bolts of handgun ammunition. Today were picking up that discussion where we left off.
Handgun ammo is generally made for use in pistols or revolvers. Yes, a revolver is technically a pistol, but Im talking about semi-automatic pistols. There is a difference between the two. In a revolver round, the base or rim of the cartridge is larger in diameter than the case. If it wasnt, the rounds would simply fall through the revolvers cylinder. |

It didnt take long after Mark Zuckerberg proclaimed that free speech would reign on Facebook and specifically that political candidates would not have their posts removed or altered ahead of the 2020 elections for him to renege.
The company announced earlier this month it would ban any new political ads during the week leading up to the Nov. 3rd election. But Facebook has continued its censorship throughout the year, despite Zuckerbergs declaration last fall. |

On Sept. 13, National Public Radios All Things Considered reported that a group of armed men in Oregon stopped an Oregon Public Broadcasting reporter in the Clackamas County community of Molalla on Sept. 10 and told them to leave the area immediately. The reporting team was covering the wildfires that have ravaged the state. Apparently, these folks figured that their Second Amendment rights overrode reporters First Amendment rights.

While Florida has an interest in promoting public safety, particularly in schools, it cannot show that the ban is the least restrictive means to advance that interest. Nor could any ban be, NRA lawyers wrote in their Sept. 3 motion. The ban infringes the right of all 18-to-20-year-olds to purchase firearms for the exercise of their Second Amendment rights, even for self-defense in the home. The ban does not just limit the right, it obliterates it. The ban could not possibly be the least restrictive alternative. Nor is there evidence in the record that the Legislature considered the availability of less restrictive alternatives. |

Critics say such bills have a chilling effect on protests and arent needed; there already are laws against violence and vandalism.
Conservatives who dont value the right to protest should think twice. What about the Tea Party protests in 2010? Or gun-rights protests? Or this years Reopen NC protests?
Ed.: Those were actually peaceful protests, not riots the Ds call "peaceful protests". |

Joe Biden is resisting calls from President Donald Trump and even some fellow Democrats to release his list of potential Supreme Court picks seven months after he pledged to name the first Black female justice.
Some on the left suggest that outlining potential picks would help Biden build enthusiasm in the final weeks of the campaign, particularly after he already selected California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate, making her the first Black woman on a major presidential ticket. |

It is generally accepted that state governments, unlike the federal government, possess broad power to protect the health and safety of their citizens. But the state police power, as it is called, is not unlimited, and state efforts to address an emergency may not unduly burden constitutional rights.
For example, earlier this year, U.S. District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock ruled that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Bakers decision to close gun shops placed an undue burden on the right to bear arms in violation of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. |

That being said, why are you voting for anyone who cant, wont or doesnt support effective, local Second Amendment activism? As a voter, it bothers me. Yes, they cannot support every cause in town. They have to draw the line somewhere. And I have to draw my line somewhere too.
Whatever happens and whoever wins, you have to live with yourself long after Nov. 3. Neither one of the candidates are good enough for you, so just leave it blank and lets try again next time. |

With all the focus on the Presidential election, Second Amendment supporters should also be working to re-elect the one person who is responsible for making Donald Trumps first term a major success in terms of protecting the Second Amendment. That person is Mitch McConnell.
McConnell, the senior Senator from Kentucky, has long been a supporter of our Second Amendment rights. In addition, he led the opposition to the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill that many anti-Second Amendment extremists hoped would make it harder for the National Rifle Association (and other pro-Second Amendment groups) to make their case to the public. |
