The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has announced there will be no fall turkey hunting season due to declining populations at state and regional levels. The Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission made the decision after hearing recommendations from staff during four public meetings.

A Washington state farmer reportedly stopped a pair of suspected thieves in their tracks when he held them at gunpoint on his property until deputies arrived. "We have many responsible gun owners here in Grant County and if they are outside protecting their property they can certainly hold someone at gunpoint and then call 911 to have us come and investigate and find out what those people are doing there," Grant County Sheriff�s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman told local outlet KPQ News.

Los Angeles County sheriff�s deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer was ambushed, shot and killed, in Palmdale while inside his police vehicle Saturday night around 6 p.m. KTLA reported Clinkunbroomer was on duty in his vehicle �near the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Avenue Q� when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire.

Whether your goal is self-defense, competition or simply punching paper, some introductory training is a necessity, followed by quality range time to build what you learned into memory. Governor Gavin Newsom�s proposal to amend the United States Constitution with a Right to Safety achieved a major milestone on Friday as California became the first state in the nation to call for a Constitutional Convention for gun safety. With the Assembly�s approval of Senate Joint Resolution 7 authored by Senator Aisha Wahab and Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer, California has officially requested a constitutional convention.

The governor of New Mexico is walking back her attempt to restrict guns. Last week, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a public health order banning the open or concealed carrying of firearms in public places in Albuquerque and the surrounding county. A federal judge quickly issued a temporary block on the order when gun rights groups sued, and now the governor is back with a far less restrictive order.
