Weve cited important statistics from researcher and author John Lotts latest bookThe War on Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Liesmany, many times on this website and in the pages of Americas 1st Freedom magazine. And theres a good reason why: Lotts mountains of research as published in the book put the lie to nearly every anti-gun scheme, plot or talking point you can imagine. |

A common thread for mass public attackers is not religion, or the type of gun used, but anti-social behavior.
Thats the observation made by the Washington Posts Alex Yablon:
Ive become accustomed to the standard public discussion that follows mass shootings: What could have possibly motivated such senseless acts of violence? School shootings in particular tend to generate plenty of political debate, either about the shooters beliefs (occult activity, in Christopher Harper Mercers case; violent video games and music, in Eric Harris and Dylan Klebolds; misogyny, masculinity and entitlement in a host of others) or the role of firearms in their lives. |

The gun used in an August slaying in San Francisco was apparently stolen from a car belonging to a police officer, according to Fox News, and one of the suspects may be in this country illegally. The Associated Press identified two of the suspects, both 18, as Erick Garcia Pineda and Daniel Cruz. The dead man was identified as Abel Enrique Esquivel Jr.
If the accusations are correct, this is not the first time a stolen cops gun ended up involved in a Bay area homicide. As the AP recalled, the slaying of Kate Steinle on a San Francisco pier more than two years ago is the example most often cited, but another victim, Antonio Ramos, was killed last year. |

We told you last week how Washington Post opinion writer Dana Milbank turned an op-ed on the Sportsmens Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act into a fake news hit piece on firearm suppressors. But Milbanks column was so egregious in so many ways that we believe a look at some of his other hyperbole is in order. |

Despite increased attention from the media, several cases currently in court, and chiding admonitions from their bosses, it appears that government workers who are legally allowed to carry guns still havent learned their lesson about leaving said weapons in their vehicles. Bay City News reports on Monday that yet another gun was stolen from a car over the weekend this time from a sheriffs deputy, who was off-duty and driving a rental car. The gun was stored in the trunk when the theft took place around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. |
