An injustice is happening in San Diego County, and the person causing the injustice is the countys top law enforcement officer: Sheriff Bill Gore.
Gore is denying the Second Amendment rights of San Diego County residents who want to carry concealed firearms outside of the home.
The sheriff has set-up secret, undisclosed internal policies that result in denial of application after application from law-abiding, trained county residents who qualify under the states requirements for a concealed carry weapon permit. His restrictive policies make it nearly impossible for most trained, law-abiding applicants with good character to obtain a permit. |

There are a lot of figures you can provide family and friends who are not quite convinced they should take charge of their well-being with a firearmas a last, lifesaving resortuntil authorities arrive. For one thing, they certainly wont be alone, because two out of every three owners say protecting themselves and their loved ones is a primary reason they have a gun. A record number of 16.3 million Americans have taken it a step further by getting their concealed carry permit (CCW) and 36 percent of those with licenses are female. |

The Second Amendment Foundation and Calguns Foundation and two individual plaintiffs today filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court for certiorari in the case of Silvester, et.al. v. California Attorney General Zavier Becarra.
The case challenges Californias 10-day waiting period law and seeks to overturn a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that essentially forces a gun owner to endure another waiting period to purchase another firearm even though he is licensed to carry and has already passed a background check.
Individual plaintiffs in the case are Jeffrey Silvester, an insurance broker in Hanford, and Brandon Combs, executive director of the Calguns Foundation. |

A healthy and vibrant real estate environment in New York City depends on more than just policies specific to our industry. Underlying all new development is the assumption that neighborhoods, residential buildings, and commercial districts will be safe. It is for this reason that REBNY joins the New York Congressional delegation, the New York Police Department, the Manhattan District Attorneys office, and leading community voices in the City in opposition to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. |

As the alt-right becomes emboldened under Donald Trumps presidency, one leftist group is not only bearing arms but training its growing membership to use them.
Its called Redneck Revolt, and they have a meeting in Durham on Sunday.
Were hosting a community event to discuss our participation in counter protests in Charlottesville, what armed community defense can look like and resistance to racism in NC, states the Facebook event for the 1 p.m. meeting at Motorco on Rigsbee Avenue. Armed self defense is necessary for the survival and relevance of our future organizing in the face of a growing insurgent fascism. |

Today, gun owners scored a win in California when anti-gun bill SB 497 was significantly amended in the Assembly Appropriations Committee to remove language extending Californias one handgun a month to all guns. With the removal of the problematic language, SB 497 now exclusively deals with the storage of firearms by peace officers in unattended vehicles.
As the California Legislature enters the final two weeks of the 2017 session, your state legislators still need to hear from you on the remaining anti-gun bills. Please use our TAKE ACTION button below to email your State Senator and Assembly Member urging them to OPPOSE AJR 24, SB 464, AB 7, and AB 424. |

Nine rocky months into the Donald Trump administration has produced some discouraging news for the gun industry, according to CNN Money and the New York Post.
Dicks Sporting Goods stock plunged a couple of weeks ago when earnings didnt measure up to the forecast. And the bad news didnt just stop at Dicks.
Bass Pro Shops in mid-August reported that hunting sales have been down, according to the New York Post. But the newspaper noted that financially troubled Gander Mountain, a major outdoors rival, had flooded the marketplace over the past 90 days, selling merchandise at bargain prices that included ammunition discounted 40 percent and apparel discounted 50 percent. |

Continuing this weeks theme of campus absurdities, we have yet another college professor who has taken to wearing body armor to protest campus carry by law-abiding students. This week, its Kevin Willmott, a film and media studies instructor at the University of Kansas. Student news site Kansan.com reported that Williams appeared for the first day of classes this semester wearing a bulletproof vest to protest a Kansas campus carry law that took effect in July. Try to forget that Im wearing a vest, and Ill try to forget that you could be packing a .44 magnum, Willmott told his students. |

Parents of adolescents with depression or bipolar disorder are no more likely than households without a mentally ill teen to follow safe firearm storage practices, a recent U.S. study suggests.
Researchers examined survey data on gun storage from 279 parents or guardians who had at least one gun in their household and at least one adolescent 11 to 17 years old.
Overall, only 69% of respondents said they kept all firearms locked up and unloaded, which is recommended by pediatricians to keep guns out of kids reach and reduce the likelihood weapons will be used in accidental shootings or suicide attempts. |

The Lee County School Board pulled a discussion from the agenda to reconsider local rules about guns on school property.
The proposal would have allowed students and employees over 18 to have a gun in their vehicle, as long as the weapon was secured in a locked case, unloaded, and not within reach of the driver.
The topic started in late July and was set for the agenda on Sept. 5. However, NBC2 confirmed it has been removed from the agenda for now. |

Look, everyone wants more for less, right? We all have expensive tastes, but few of us have the budgets to back it up. Enter Ruger, who has a hard-earned reputation for making great rifles at great prices. Dont believe us? Then take a look at the American Rifle Series.
Building on that tradition is the new 7.62x39mm Ranch Rifle yep, you read that right, 7.62x39mm. Now, dont get this confused with the semi-auto Mini-Thirty you know, that rifle for guys who cant bring themselves to buy an AK, but will happily buy an American-made gun that can shoot the same round. You know who you are out there! |

Despite the overwhelming evidence that gun buy backs (more appropriately called turn-ins) do not affect violent crime, these anti-gun ceremonies continue to be a feature of the American political landscape. In July, Rep. Donald M. Payne introduced the Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act, which would squander a whopping $360 million for each of fiscal years 2018 through 2020 on a turn-in scheme. Two months earlier, Los Angeles held a buy back that collected nearly 800 guns. In perhaps a tacit acknowledgment that the turn-in held no public safety value, Mayor Eric Garcetti said of the event, It gives us an opportunity to state our cultural values. |

Suppressors are the best tool available for hunters and sport shooters to protect their hearing. This innovative technology is available to help prevent auditory problems associated with prolonged exposure to firearm noise, but it is currently illegal to own or possess it in the Commonwealth.
I am the executive director of the Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts, an organization that represents over 15,000 gun owners in our state. We are working with legislators to legalize these modern firearms tools this legislative session and make suppressors available for public sale in Massachusetts. |

A state law passed earlier this year allows persons with proper permits to carry concealed handguns in previously off-limit public places including the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines.
The campuses of Iowa's three public universities, however, remain areas in which weapons of any kind are heavily regulated and prohibited for nearly everyone except law enforcement officers. Similar polices are in place at Kirkwood and Des Moines Area Community College campuses. |
