"UCLA constitutional law professor Adam Winkler is not likely to be mistaken for a fervent gun rights advocate. As discussed here last November, he referred to the Tea Party's generally gun-friendly stance as the 'Tea Party's Gun Problem,' in an article he wrote for the Daily Beast:" ...

"Even Professor Winkler, though, recognizes what gun rights advocates have known all along--that "gun control" laws in the U.S. are rooted in racism and white supremacy--as Clayton Cramer has forcefully and skillfully argued for decades. From the Wall Street Journal:" ...

"Critics of Barack Obama have been joking lately that every time the President speaks the stock market takes a nosedive, so it is with no small amount of irony that headlines in both the Seattle Times and on-line Seattle Post-Intelligencer are talking about $2 billion more in budget cuts looming, just as Obama heads for Seattle Sunday for some fund-raisers."

"Among those budget cuts is one that not only alarms gun owner, but should concern everyone. You can bet law enforcement is looking at this:" ...

"It's amazing the lengths some on the left will go to try to make a point when attacking the Second Amendment. On September 12, 2011, Bloomberg.com writer John Crewdson admitted to knowingly signing an application that required him to swear under oath that he was following the law. He lied." ...

"How can any American much less any American Jew view the mob lunacy that recently ravaged London and other cities and not contemplate the possibility of similar chaos on our own shores?"

"Armed with the knowledge that Londoners would be universally disarmed by England's 'enlightened' 'gun control' laws, rioters plundered and pillaged orgiastically while timid citizens cowered in hiding." ...

"David Scott Blackwell has repaid his debt to society, by Georgia standards."

"He served five years in prison for selling drugs. He successfully finished his probation. He was even granted a full pardon by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, which would allow him to possess a gun in that state."

"But should Blackwell, now living in Franklin, be able to own a gun here?"

"Blackwell is suing the state after being denied a gun permit in Tennessee, arguing that the Georgia pardon fully restored his rights even the right to bear arms. ..." ...

... "The next hearing of the Issa committee on the Gunwalker Scandal will begin sometime early in October. We are promised one more after that before the end of the year. The format of previous hearings, although understandable, is unwieldy and too truncated for in depth truth-getting from a particular witness."

"The modified limited hangout release by the White House of selected emails between "Gunwalker Bill" Newell and NSC staffer Kevin O'Reilly and then the admission that O'Reilly's boss Dan Restrepo was briefed on Fast and Furious (all the while denying that the anybody in the White House knew anything about gunwalking), demonstrates their abject fear that this scandal will, at least, destroy the chances of a second term." ...

"It was a fun couple of day with folks from Costa Rica, Italy, Romania, Venezuela, and more countries whose citizen shooters I probably havent met yet. The majority of contestants, naturally, were fellow Yanks." ...

"To me, firearms fall into three categories. First come work guns, which protect your life or feed your family. Next are fun guns, which are fun to shoot or you can use for competitions. Then there are curiosities, which you own for no other reason than to say that you own one. Guns can fall into more than one category, but its rare. The Saiga 12, for me, falls squarely in the curiosity category, mainly because it was so godawful at doing anything else. Lets take a couple minutes and examine my $500 mistake." ...

"Before I began capturing the video above, Adam Deciccio told me he was going to shoot 'five rounds single action, five rounds double action.' And so I introed his demo promising ten bullets a leapineven though I knew the $675 Ruger SP101 .22LR revolver 'only' chambers eight. Thats still a lot of cartridges for a wheelgun. And the non-dud 'dud' demos just how steady Adam is with a gun. Any gun. In this case, a Ruger thats wikkid pissain theory. I mean, who wouldnt want an Ruger SP101 chambered in .22LR to go with their higher-powered Ruger SP101? In practice . . ." ...

"'When all else fails vote from the rooftops.' Thats how a T-shirt logo advertising Michael Dukes radio show reads. What can that statement, in blood-red lettering over a black background and paired with the image of an assault rifle, possibly mean except that people who arent satisfied with election results should use an assault rifle to take matters into their own hands. That they should climb to the top of a building and start killing people?" ...

"A recently passed bill in Florida, the 'Privacy of Firearms Owners Act,' infringes upon both free speech and doctor-patient confidentiality. The Florida law (EB 155) makes it a crime for physicians to record firearms ownership information except if the information is relevant to the patient's care and safety or the safety of others."

"This piece of legislation is not about Second Amendment rights, but rather a restriction on the right of free speech between doctors and their patients." ...

"The Third Annual Central State University Constitution/Pre-Law Day was held Sept 15 at the College of Education and Natural Sciences. It was quite an eventful day. The activities included various law colleges on hand to speak with the pre-law program students regarding their programs. The next activity was very important to the pre-law program at CSU as agreements were signed with four additional law schools. This provides the students more opportunity to enter law school following graduation from CSU. The final phase was the debate on HB256 (Rep. John Adams) which will allow concealed carry on college campuses and also allow concealed carry without a license for persons not otherwise prohibited." ...

"'I think you're remorseful, no question,' State District Judge Michael McSpadden told a teary-eyed and choked-up Matthew Calley, 46, of Magnolia, after his ruling."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins ... Society is in every state a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. THOMAS PAINE
