U.S. to Add 5,000 Armed Air Marshals

"The Bush administration is shuffling its homeland security operation to make 5,000 more armed agents available to protect commercial flights."

"The reorganization will combine the air marshal's program with the customs and immigration security programs so agents in both can be cross-trained and used for aviation security, officials said. This will allow the government to put extra agents on airliners when officials believe they are being targeted by terrorists."

-------
Homeland security fascist Tom Ridge would rather jump through a billion bureaucratic hoops than allow trained, law abiding citizens to carry their firearms aboard.

"A Second Amendment rights group said Thursday that information publicized by a gun control group proves the pro-gun argument that regulating the behavior of law-abiding citizens does little or nothing to prevent crimes committed by outlaws using firearms."

"Americans for Gun Safety (AGS), a pro-gun control group that promotes itself as the voice of moderation in the Second Amendment debate, issued several press releases in mid-August decrying the 'Nation's Leading Gun Trafficking States' and listing the 10 worst offenders."

" 'Illegal gun traffickers have figured out that the feds simply don't enforce the gun laws on the books,' said AGS Policy and Research Director Jim Kessler in one such press release. 'When you combine shoddy federal enforcement and lax firearms laws, it makes Mississippi a gun runner's paradise.' "

"Michael Moore, winner of the 2002 Oscar for Best Documentary for his controversial 'Bowling for Columbine,' failed to meet submission requirements of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a WorldNetDaily investigation reveals."

"While critics of the filmmaker and author have called on the academy to investigate whether Moore fabricated scenes in the movie, it also appears he misled the academy about the film's eligibility on purely technical grounds."

"As a result of assistance provided to WCO Toward by the Pennsylvania State Police, Game Commission Southwest Region Dispatcher Garry Radar and the public, the individual who shot the eagle was identified as Shannon Stacey Binda, 36, of Jeannette." ...

"Based upon an interview with Mr. Binda, WCO Toward and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Agent Bill Anderson agreed that Binda would be assessed $4,000 in fines and restitution. In addition, Binda waived his right to contest a three-year loss of hunting and furtaking privileges, and he forfeited his shotgun to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He recently met with Game Commission officers and Agent Anderson at the Southwest Region office to settle the charges against him." ...

"This was a case of an individual mistakenly identifying a mature bald eagle as a roosting turkey,"

-------
What the release omits is that Binda is a Policeman. How does one mistake a Bald Eagle for a Turkey? Why did Binda get off easy?

"Mr. Binda panicked when he realized what he had done. While he did not come forward to report his mistake, he was very cooperative when we confronted him with our evidence. He expressed remorse and said he just wanted to put the whole thing behind him."

Translation: this officer of the law tried to hide his crime, and when he no could no longer deny it, he admitted to it and got special treatment and the privilege of retaining his job, which consists of enforcing laws, which he apparently has trouble following himself.

"Members of the Libertarian Party of New York have labored to set the record straight about the power system in the days following the region-wide power blackout on August 14. LPNY Chair John Clifton has questioned why so many officials felt compelled to make ill-considered statements, such as the initial erroneous speculation that a lightning strike in Niagara caused a grid failure that spread to 21 power plants."

"Likewise shaky, said Clifton, was the rush of many to blame 'deregulation' for the transmission failure, 'as it's far more accurate to say that utilities were re-regulated under the sham reforms of the last decade,' with no net decline in total government involvement. 'It's as if the politicians are suffering from a mental power failure, to match the electrical one New Yorkers experienced,' he charged."

"Applying for a firearm licence in South Africa is like playing soccer without knowing the rules."

"This is what gun-law expert Martin Hood said about the new, stricter system for firearm applications that, in the past three months, has seen a majority of licence applications turned down by the Central Firearm Registry, and on appeal."

"The United States -- despite all the efforts of the FedGov to enslave it -- is still the most free society in the world. No doubt our freedoms will continue to be curtailed, but for the moment, there is nothing to prevent terrorists from existing."

"Nor, frankly, should there be anything to prevent their existence. In a free society, one of the accepted dangers is that it's possible for individuals to harm one another. The great lie about laws is that they exist to prevent behavior that would cause harm. In fact, laws exist to punish or exact restitution from individuals who've already harmed others. The only way to PREVENT harm is a total police state in which individuals are allowed no freedom whatsoever."

And shes attacking poor Ahhnolt for acting out violence with guns on the screen!"

"Say what?! What about confessed Gun Nazi Sylvester Stallone? What about all of his Rambo Mussolini movies garroting, shooting, burning and pulverizing evildoers and obviously right-wing Republican extremists and Bush voters? Herr Duce Stallone wanted the 1968 Nazi Gun Control Act for Americans expanded to allow for house-to-house searches by United States Federal Gestapo and United States Federal Police to confiscate them all. Does that include the guns that he and his fellow Hollywood buffoons playact with all the time as well? How about all the guns they secretly own and just forget to mention? Them too?"

"It's all coming to a head folks. Socialism doesn't work in any of its forms-we've all seen it. And we've also seen that the only thing that does work is unfettered Capitalism. So we all should have known it was just a matter of time. What's going to kill this government is not a popular revolution, but sheer financial insolvency. Now don't get me wrong-it's not going to be bloodless. "The California legislature is well on its way to passing SB489. If enacted into law, SB489 would deem 'unsafe' any semi-automatic handgun that does not have a 'loaded chamber' indicator and 'magazine disconnect' feature on it. That covers basically every semi-automatic handgun in existence today."

"One might infer that the intent of this bill is to prevent 'accidental shootings' from occurring by handlers of semi-automatic handguns who claim that they thought the firearm was unloaded."

"Keep in mind that in order for such 'accidental shootings' to occur, three things have to happen. 1) The firearm must be loaded. 2) The operator of the firearm must point it at a person. 3) The operator of the firearm must pull the trigger."
