In 2020 alone, 8.5 million people in the U.S. bought their first gun. Black women and men accounted for more than 58 percent of those registered gun owners over the first six months of the last year.

There have been all kinds of activities throughout the country in the way of litigation to return constitutional rights to the people. In New Jersey, one of the strongholds of squishing freedom, there actually is a lot going on.

Oftentimes people read about a case, get excited, and move on. The wheels of justice are so slow that its easy to forget what irons we have in the fire. With 2021 more than halfway through, its a good time to do a recap, so you know what to keep your eyes peeled for.

Winn Parish leaders have signed a resolution declaring the parish a second amendment sanctuary. While serving no legal function, the resolution means Winn Parish leaders are taking an official stance against the enforcement of laws they perceive as violations of the second amendment.

Winn is the third such parish in Louisiana. They join St. Mary and St. Tammany parishes in doing this. Police jury president Josh McAllister says over 62% of the counties in the country are second amendment sanctuary counties. He says the jury had a lot of support from across the parish to go forward with this resolution, and the residents of Winn Parish want to believe their rights are protected.

One way the National Rifle Association projects its power is through the image of tens of thousands of members in a convention center, in front of the politicians who back the powerful gun rights organization.

But this weekend, for the second year in a row, the NRA's chosen convention center will stand empty, after it was forced to cancel its annual meeting due to the COVID pandemic.

A new pro-gun law in Texas that went into effect Wednesday allows most Texans who legally own a firearm to carry it openly in public without obtaining a permit or training, a measure that experts say will make it more challenging for law enforcement to protect the public from gun violence.

The controversial "constitutional carry" legislation is the latest in a series of pro-gun bills that state lawmakers passed this year as gun violence incidents rise in Texas and across the country.

Investigators said it was too early to determine if there would be charges in the case or if it was self-defense.

Texans recently saw a dozen NRA-backed bills go into effect, most notable among them being constitutional carry.

These pro-freedom measures went into effect Sept. 1, and would not have come to fruition were it not for the tireless work of pro-Second Amendment legislators in the Lone Star State, the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (ILA), and dedicated NRA members and other activists that support our right to keep and bear arms.

For years now, representatives from the Michael Bloomberg-founded, and funded, Everytown for Gun Safety have been slipping into Hollywood studios, writers rooms and elbow-rubbing parties, intent on influencing storylines and, thereby, shaping public opinion.

Nevertheless, gun usefrom action blockbusters to cop shows to superheroes to military moviesare still the mainstay of the entertainment money machine, indicating that Everytowns efforts have mostly amounted to a flop.

The weekend tallies from Chicagos gang-related crimes continue, and New York Citys Times Square and even upscale attractions in Washington, D.C. arent immune to criminals exchanging gunfire. This is happening because no-bail policies are putting criminals back on the street, yet politicians are looking elsewhere for causes, even floating proposals to pay criminals to not shoot others.

The Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky says she wants to study why shootings are increasing. Walensky told CNN, Something has to be done about this. Now is the time its pedal to the metal time. The Biden administration thinks this is a novel approach, but the CDC has done this before.

"Now, with radical Democrats in power in Washington, D.C., attempting to destroy what made our country great, I am ready to take my proven conservative leadership to Congress to stand up for our southwest Missouri values."

Burlison, who works as a tax consultant, investment adviser and software consultant, indicated on the website that his campaign would focus on former President Donald Trump's agenda, Second Amendment rights, business issues and health care, among other priorities.

Valerie Rupert raised her right arm, slightly shaking and unsure as she aimed at the paper target representing a burglar, a robber or even a rapist.

The 67-year-old Detroit grandmother squeezed the trigger, the echo of her shot blending into the chorus of other blasts by other women off the small gun range walls.

I was a little nervous, but after I shot a couple of times, I enjoyed it, said Rupert, among 1,000 or so mostly Black women taking part in free weekend gun safety and shooting lessons at two Detroit-area ranges.

In a tweet from July, author and business owner J.D. Vance states, The next stage of deplatforming will be denying people access to the financial system. Second Amendment will mean little if Visa wont let you buy ammunition.

Vance is making an important point: If a person has the wrong viewpoint, the left will be coming for your speech, your wallet, your ability to be a citizen in a digital environment.

Students and staff return equipped with masks and social distancing skills to protect them from COVID-19, but they will have little protection against the growing threat of school violence. The first line of defense will be the School Resource Officers that some continue to fight to eliminate from our schools. Those SROs will be a welcome sight for many left shaken by Wednesday's shooting incident at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that left a student dead.

Technology has changed a great deal since the Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791. This is beyond dispute, and it is something that Second Amendment supporters have to deal with when trying to convince their friends, family, and neighbors to back our Second Amendment rights against certain assaults.

Anti-Second Amendment extremists often claim that the Founders had no clue that something like the AR-15 could exist and as such, it is not protected by the Second Amendment. Well, that argument is bullshit, and in a way, the Supreme Court has already said so. In Caetano v. Massachusetts, Massachusetts saw its ban on stun guns get thrown out on Second Amendment grounds.

The more Biden talks about gun restrictions, the more weapons we buy. By this point, youd think Biden owns stock in firearms.

Gun sales in the United States continue to explode and beat pre-pandemic levels. August 2021 saw the 2nd highest gun sales for that month, beaten only by August 2020 when the nation watched Democrat leaders allow Antifa and BLM to burn their cities with near impunity.
