"Tests in New Jersey on a deer contraceptive vaccine have failed. Miserably."

"The vaccine, called SpayVac, was used this year on 52 whitetail does in New Jersey, according to a recent report in The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J. Those does produced at least two dozen fawns. Another group of deer in Ohio had similar results, the story said." ...

"But here's the passage from the story that most caught my eye: 'Along with (the failure of the drug in field tests) went the hopes for what wildlife biologists have sought for more than 20 years: an environmentally sound deer contraceptive that could be applied with one easy shot and last for years.'"

"It's definitely not your typical tourist pitch."

"'Thinking about a Florida vacation?' the advertisement asks. 'A new law in the Sunshine State authorizes nervous or frightened residents to use deadly force.'"

"Ads, fliers, billboards and a Web site are part of a campaign by a national gun control group to warn visitors about Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' law that takes effect Saturday."

"The law gives broad legal protections to a person who is attacked not only at home, but 'any other place where he or she has a right to be,' and removes a common-law duty to retreat in the face of attack. A person being attacked will have 'the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force,' not only at home but in public places." ...

"The mainstream media's blind commitment to opposing any gun rights legislation is giving a whole new meaning to the word BLIND."

"On Friday September 16, the Associated Press botched a story it published after we broke the news that Rep. "Those provisions are among the most significant changes made from last session's concealed carry bill, which called for sheriffs to issue permits, Zien said."

"Since March, lawmakers have rushed to outlaw online hunting, a pseudo-sport that sprung up mere months ago on a single Texas website, live-shot.com, which attracted only one customer."

"John Lockwood, who founded live-shot.com, said he still can't understand the reason state lawmakers banned online hunting. He said his site was intended for disabled hunters who can't stalk wildlife any other way but through his system, which rigs a rifle and camera to an Internet connection at his Texas ranch." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
To have no proud monarch driving over me with his gilt coaches; nor his host of excise-men and tax-gatherers insulting and robbing me; but to be my own master, my own prince and sovereign, gloriously preserving my national dignity, and pursuing my true happiness; planting my vineyards, and eating their luscious fruits; and sowing my fields, and reaping the golden grain: and seeing millions of brothers all around me, equally free and happy as myself. This, sir, is what I long for. -- General Francis Marion, American War of Independence, Georgetown, SC [Source: 'Marion, The Life of Gen. Francis Marion' by M. L. Weems, Ch.18]
