"An armed Internal Revenue Service agent was arrested last night after making obscene comments to two other passengers while going to their seats on a Southwest Airlines flight in Louisville, an airport spokeswoman said."

"Brandon N. Fox, 24, who is from Chicago, had proper clearance to carry his gun, said Rande Swann, spokeswoman for Louisville International Airport."

"But about 8:25 p.m., on Chicago-bound Flight 2524, he made a 'very obscene' comment to a female passenger who had said he was holding others up while storing his luggage overhead, Swann said."

"When the passenger's fiance asked him to apologize, Fox made a similar crude comment to him, Swann said."

"The couple complained, and the captain ordered Fox off the plane, saying he didn't want an unruly, armed passenger on the plane, according to the arrest record."

" 'The pilot has the prerogative to have somebody removed from the flight,' Swann said."

"Airport police removed Fox, and he was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was still in the Jefferson County jail late last night."

"It's not an individual freedom from government suppression, or even a right of states to have arms that can protect them against the federal government (Wills rejects that argument, too). Rather, it's an affirmative entitlement to a form of government subsidy. Quite a remarkable reading of the phrase 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms....'

Quite remarkable."

" 'A lot of people carry knives or fake guns for protection. It's a way of life,' said Maj. Mark Bodde, the top-ranked court officer at Bronx Supreme Court, the landmark just up from Yankee Stadium on the Grand Concourse at 161st St."

" 'When they come to the courthouse for jury duty or on other business,' he said, 'they forget the weapon is in the bottom of their bag or pocket. And they forget it's illegal.' " [emphasis added]

Since the Kentucky CCDW (carrying concealed deadly weapons) license, and the Tennessee Handgun Permit are sent by federal mail, the individuals were charged with mail fraud."

"The United States began its journey toward becoming a world power with a rather unique premise -- that citizens were actually capable of self-government. What a concept! This was radical thinking in the prevalent social thought of 1776 and even more so today. Imagine the nerve and personal commitment on the part of the Founding Fathers when they took the dramatic and even life threatening steps of cutting the bonds of rule by a king and other disconnected political agents. They established a new nation based on the notion of personal liberty, personal responsibility and personal accountability."
