We have discussed in previous SecureIt articles how this gun safe company is more than being about safes. They have built out an entire curriculum that continues to grow to help people access their firearms in a more real-world, practical manner for home defense. In fact, they dont view their products as simple, cold boxes that house firearms. They view what theyre offering through the lens that they are a home defense gun safe. A safe yet rapidly accessible place for firearms to defend yourself and your family.

They Say that on a cold night, when you walk past the stern figure of Samuel Colt standing as a monument on his grave in Hartford, Conn., there can be seen a faint smile on his cold marble lips. And many people wonder why he is smiling. Maybe it is because some 3,000 miles away, in the City of the Angels in the land of California, there is a man who is doing the same thing Colt did back more than a century ago. On borrowed capital and a determination to make a good product, William Wilson of the Great Western Arms Company is building a new version of Colts famous Peacemaker. |

Friday was the deadline for the Appropriations Committees of both chambers to finish passing bills from the suspense file to make them eligible for the floor. Most anti-gun bills have advanced, with some amendments, making them eligible for floor votes at any time. Additionally, last week, the Senate Public Safety Committee also passed Senate Joint Resolution 7, and the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee passed Assembly Bill 135. These are also eligible for votes on the floor. It's important that you contact your legislators and urge their opposition to the many anti-gun bills that could come up for a vote.

Theres peril when media sets out to confirm a narrative instead of reporting facts. Whether its criminal violence in America perpetrated by a deranged lunatic, or by violent drug cartels in countries beyond our borders, some media outlets will find the flawed logic to argue it is American companies that should be punished.

Gabriel Metcalf sits in jail, without the possibility of bail, for defending his mother, Vivian, and their home in Billings, Montana. Their modest home is across the street from the Broadwater Elementary School. Gabriel was keeping watch with a single-shot shotgun and a camera after numerous threats and attacks against him and his elderly mother. They had a restraining order (order of protection), to keep a former neighbor, David Lee Carpenter, from coming within 1,500 feet of them or their home. The complaint lists a number of threats from David Lee Carpenter and a person who was living with him at the rented house next door to Gabriel (Gabe) at 426 Broadwater in Billings, Montana.

For U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), some things will never get old, like calling for a complete ban on Americas most popular semiautomatic rifle, the Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR). Or ignoring criminals. Or taking to social media immediately after a tragedy, before facts are known, and pushing for more gun control.

It wont be winning many awards for sleek lines and slender looks, but Smith & Wesson certainly dumped a bucket of special features into the mixer when it dreamed up the 14+1 M&P 12 bullpup shotgun. What this little 12-gauge scattergun lacks in looks is more than made up for by its capacity, small size, and user-friendly design. Now, Im not a bullpup fanboy by any measure. In fact, Ive had some issues with cheap bullpup shotguns in the past. Still, the M&P 12 has a lot of things going for it on paper, at least. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
...If a man lies under oath or procures the lie of another under oath, if he perjures himself or suborns perjury, he is guilty under the statute law. Under the higher law, under the great law of morality and righteousness, he is precisely as guilty if, instead of lying in a court, he lies in a newspaper or on the stump; and in all probability, the evil effects of his conduct are infinitely more widespread and more pernicious. Teddy Roosevelt - May 12, 1900 |
