Agents with Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the U.S. Customs Department continue to surround a home in Salem, Mo., south of Rolla. The standoff began at 2 p.m. Thursday when authorities attempted to execute a search warrant and the resident refused to let them in.
The ATF and U.S. Customs Service command post sits about a half mile away from the home where the standoff is taking place. The suspect is believed to have "illegal weapons"... |

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A CSU student was carrying a gun to class Friday along with her books. The 23 year old told 7NEWS that she bought the weapon to protect herself against the serial rapist in the city, who has attacked six women so far. |

A Denver appeals court further eroded the Fourth Amendment by allowing police to ask stopped motorists whether they have a loaded gun, a civil liberties lawyer said Thursday.
"How many of these things have to happen before we realize we're living in a police state and not a place governed by the Constitution?" asked Micheal Salem, a volunteer attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union. |

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Thirteen current or former city police officers are charged with conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and other crimes related to coverups and the planting of guns at crime scenes, federal officials announced at a news conference Friday.
