Somethings missing here and I believe its a healthy dose of common sense. Death by gunshot is not a pretty thing; its absolutely sickening. It makes little difference if the victim is a young child gunned down by a school-house shooter or a bank robber stopped in their tracks by an officer of the law. Both create a bloody mess and, most importantly, claim or maim a human life.
Traditionally, America has granted a license to use firearms against fellow humans exclusively to its law enforcement officers and members of the military. At that, there are rules and regulations that must be followed. Gun-slinging lawmen like Wyatt Earp are no longer tolerated by society. |

"...what they considered an unfair burden on gun owners."
'Unfair burden?' No, an unconstitutional infringement. Please refer to the word "right" in the phrase, "the right of the people." Right, not privilege. Privileges can be subjected to interest-balancing and regulation; rights cannot. There is no 'debate' about the meanings of these words - it is etymological fact.
"Simply holster up and be on the lookout for bad guys to gun down." + "Dont mistake me for an anti-gun advocate." = It would hardly be a mistake.
"Even Tombstone, Ariz., banned carrying firearms inside the city limits."
...which was the direct cause of the OK Corral gunfight.
Uh, Mr. Tackett.....? If you find yourself in a deep hole, quit digging. |
