I still believe liberals mean well, and when they use their passion to defend and protect rights they like, they do well. When they use that passion to infringe rights they dont like, they remind me of the old KKK Democrats.
I will use an analogy to explain.
Liberals want universal background checks even though today they do nothing to actually prevent criminals from getting a gun. They do hinder the law-abiding from getting one. Failing a background check rarely, if ever, starts an investigation to see if a felon has just broken a law that has a mandatory 10-year sentence. Yet if that same felon tried to pass a fake $20, he would be arrested immediately. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers" delegated directly to the citizen, and `is excepted out of the general powers of government.' A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power." [Cockrum v. State, 24 Tex. 394, at 401-402 (1859)] |
