Black victims accounted for nearly 60 percent of the justifiable homicides committed with firearms in the United States between 2008 and 2012, according to a new report by the Violence Policy Center.
The Violence Policy Center (VPC), a national group working to eliminate gun deaths and injuries, analyzed data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Justice Statistics and found that more than 30 percent of homicides involving a White shooter and a Black victim were later ruled justified, during that time period. Just 6.3 percent of homicides involving Black shooters and White victims were deemed justified. More than 90 percent of the Black people killed in justifiable homicides with a firearm were shot by Blacks. |

And who did the shooting ? What was their race ? The USG has documented blacks commit a disparate proportion of violent crimes and homicides. Better let's look at the raw data from 08 to 12, (the latest published). Are the rates increasing or decreasing ? What is the racial distribution of the perps and victims?
The outstanding characteristic of the hoplophobes is a consistent tactic of cherry-picking, and often mis-representing - data compiled by others to suit their needs. Even in this 'report" they make claims( long refuted by peer-reviewed studies surviving rigorous examination) without providing supportive data. AU for the Sugarman and VPC bunch ! |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Let us contemplate our forefathers, and posterity, and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that `if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration...that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." --Samuel Adams, speech in Boston, 1771 |
