In 2008, the National Rifle Association issued dire warnings of what would happen if Barack Obama were elected president. He would be "the most anti-gun president in American history," the NRA declared. He would, it said, strip away the right to use a gun for home defense, ban the sale and ownership of handguns, and "increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent."

Obama didn't propose any of those measures, much less achieve them. But never mind. This year, the NRA is making even darker predictions about Hillary Clinton.

Let's not forget that Obama had always denied he'd take our guns, but Hillery has stated that what we need is an "Australia-like" solution. Australia, as many here know, has confiscated many guns and had them destroyed.

IMHO Obama never got around to guncontrol as he was too busy with healthcare and "immigration reform." But that's another story.

TBS the current crop of NRA executives tend to the "overzealous" when describing our anti-gun political leadership. But that tendency doesn't make them entirely wrong in their presumptions during the current election cycle. Ms Clinton is on public record as desirous of as nearly as complete citizen disarmament as she can manage. The consequences of any attempt by government to achieve her goal might well prove disastrous.

Here is the bottom line. Hillary would appoint liberal judges to the SCOTHUS. One more liberal judge would effectively destroy the 2nd Amendment. Every liberal city would add laws making it impossible to own and carry firearms. Right now its impossible to Keep and Bear in Co, Ca, NJ, NY, Ma, Il, De, Ri. Thus the NRA is right without question. 4 judges already have voted to say you have no right to keep and bear.
