Good-bye and Good Riddance!

In Southern Democrats Out to Rebuild a Solid South, we read:
"For too long, we took the South for granted," said Sen. Charles Robb (D-VA) who faces a tough reelection challenge from popular former Republican Gov. George Allen. "One day we woke and found we were the minority party. We hadn't planned for it, but we've learned from our
mistake."
Oh really? I doubt it, Sen. Robb. I doubt that you have learned that the fiercely proud people of the South, (the Old Dominion, in your personal case) are so fed up with liberal foolishness that they are about ready to get out the tar and feathers.
I doubt that you have driven the 20 miles from George Washington's boyhood home on the Potomac River to the home of Robert E. Lee, his distant kinsman, and had it dawn on you that the Southern states did not so much secede from the Union in 1860, but rather threw the Northern federalists out (then proceeded to write a constitution that was identical to the original one of the U.S. that was no longer in force).
I doubt that it has occurred to you that had George Washington been alive in 1860 he would have probably gone with his friends, family and colleagues when Virginia was forced to secede because Abraham Lincoln would not accept their offer to arbitrate a reunion with the states that had already left. (Actually, I doubt that would have happened, because long before it got that bad, Washington would have led a band of Virginians into the capitol and started shooting every federalist politician that was engaged in destroying the very nation they were pledged to protect.)
No, Sen. Robb, I suspect you and your ilk are absolutely clueless as to what the silent, angry majority of your neighbors want, and what they are willing to do to get it. These good American people are slow to anger, but consider what you have done to them:
You have insulted their values, their homes, their families, their traditions, their religion, their ancestors, their heroes, their institutions, their nation and their flag. You have not done this once, but you have done it repeatedly and systematically for 75 or more years. Now, you have made a mockery of the rule of law, and in the face of this growing popular anger, you even dare to talk of disarming the people!
I blame you and your party, Senator, but I also blame your neighbors for being too polite and too silent for too long.
I actually think, sir, to my own amazement, that you are going to be legitimately surprised when your party is destroyed in the coming elections.
For those who are worried about their neighbors who need legitimate community help, the left leaning members of the GOP will provide quite enough of an opposition view to stimulate debate and to keep government honest.
There is no longer a need for a political party such as yours. As a matter of fact, Senator Robb, you and your Democratic party have become an unbearable threat to the very existence of everything your fellow Americans hold to be holy, and your continued malfeasance will not be tolerated. Good riddance to you and your kind.
